Thanks or watching this video. Do you own a Brooklyn Orangewood or have you been able to play one? What are you thoughts about this guitar or any other guitars that are similar to Orangewood guitars. Love to hear your feedback below guys! More videos coming later this week. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your family. e 🙂 P.S. Black Friday deals start tomorrow. I never heard of them before but last weekend saw an IG ad for their “Nearly Perfect” guitars on sale so I checked out the website and ordered the Brooklyn model for $250. It arrived today with a gig bag, I played it for about 30 minutes and so far love it. It looks beautiful and feels good in my hands.
Took a gamble and ordered this guitar… was already looking at ordering another model if this one went well but when I received my Brooklyn, the neck and headstock were twisted and the nut was sanded to fit the twist. Bizarre. Not sure how this passed inspection or the “professional” setup… needless to say I sent it back. No more orange wood for me. The response I got was, “but does it affect playability?” Lol
VERY nice sound and lovely shape and really affordable price of 295 $, I expected a price of 1000$ at least !
Is it made in USA ? ?
Love the demo, love the guitar. Hope to acquire one of these soon, and this was very helpful in the decision making process. The fact that you play fingerstyle through most of this was great! Few hardcore acoustic players are strummers, and with a guitar of this size especially hearing it played appropriately was nice. I've always wondered why the dreadnaught took over as the Stratocaster of the acoustic world. They're great for bluegrass, but really not ideal for much else aside from strumming. The Grand Concert size is a more comfortable shape and more versatile sonically (less overwhelming bass). It'd be even better with a shorter scale length, but that's just me.
Hi! So, I realize this is a comment on an old video, but I’m hoping you can help regardless. I started on an Ortega 158SN after I found your review on that guitar. It was awesome because it allowed me to practice enough to build up some chops before my fingers adapted to steel strings. Since then, I’ve been playing my mom’s Epiphone from the 70s. It was great for crossing the bridge to steel strings, but it’s seen better days. I’m a petite female and I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on an Orangewood Brooklyn Junior, but haven’t seen any solid reviews on it. I’ve tried full-sized guitars, and while I can make it work, it’s just not as comfortable as a smaller model. I don’t want to spend a ton yet since I still consider myself a late beginner/ early intermediate player. I can play songs like You Are My Sunshine, Blackbird, and Deep River Blues pretty well using fingerstyle. I have dead bass and alternating bass down when it’s a song I’ve learned, and I’m working on thumb independence while improvising blues. Also, I can get through songs like Wildwood Flower and Shady Grove okay with a flatpick (which have easy-ish crosspicking). I’m not really into heavy strumming. Do you think that would be an acceptable next step so far as a new guitar goes for me? For what it’s worth, I liked the GS Mini for comfort but found that only some versions sound good, and I don’t like how darn skinny the neck is (I’m guessing because of the narrower nut width). The Brooklyn Jr seems to have very similar neck dimensions as the guitar I’ve been playing, which I like.
….Are you small….or what…'cause that looks like a Jumbo- sized body guitar…..
I found a Mason Live at Guitar Center, for $299 (retails $499), it sounds and plays nice. I had been looking for an Oliver Mahogany, which was out of stock forever at Orangewood. Yesterday I saw an alert Oliver's were available again, and by the time I had time to look, there was only 1 left (an Oliver Mahogany Live), and I bought it for $245. I'm excited about it as these guitars have reignited my desire to play and express myself…at a time I had been discouraged with my old budget guitar.
Thanks for the review , I trust your judgement,
helped me out.
Is that acoustic electric guitar ?
I ordered and was disappointed only because of the “bear paw”marks on the top. Has anyone else seen this or dislike this
The Harley Benton of the States ????????
Where’d you get that capo????????
This is marketing.
This is not true. The orangewood echo worth $395.
I just got my first guitar from them 1 weeks ago – crazy affordable, already set up – right out of the box perfect
It sounds tinny and thin. Cheap. Not impressed. Getting a Martin ooo.
How is the shipping? Was it fast?
Erich E is one of my favorite guitar teachers. Awesome playing as always. His relentless pursuit of perfection has helped me learn to play some of my favorite songs.
woah haha I wasn’t expecting that MGMT cover awesome playing and demo man
its made in china & its a p.o.s. got mine with a twisted neck untunable, & they wont return it scumbags
Thx for the review! In Quarantine and just ordered a Brooklyn Live Limited Edition can't wait to get it. ????
Nice
I just got the Oliver mahogany, it's beautiful guitar, sounds way better than my Yamaha and Fender. I'll be buying another guitar from Orangewood for sure!
