great instruction video and kept away from the temptation of showing all the flashy stuff and stayed with the basics. Power to you for that. Lovely introduction to the 'chicken picken' guitar style with an easy step by step guide to achieve that 'sound'. Keep up the good work more videos please.

I need more of this. Where are they?
I wonder what pickup gives the best sound to chicken picking. The bridge or bridge and neck?
Do you give private lessons online? I played Nashville for 23 years and always used a pick only. I lived with Johnny Hiland and took some lessons from Redd Volkaert. So, I understand the idea behind Chicken Pickin, I just lately got back into guitar and have an interest in this technique. Serious student here! Hope you can help here! Thank you very much! Great video too! And always loved James Burton. Actually, Redd did a session with James, but just played rhythm.
Dream's dad?

The moral of the story is "More articulation". I don't even know what the word means, but I have been chicken picking for more than 50 years. It must be something new.
I appreciated the "drop D" mention halfway through this 2nd lesson. I "missed" the whole start of this portion wondering "where you were at" to match my tuned guitar. Beside this a good lesson.
Sorry once Suzy q started

So sick of that song ????
2nd way is what most of us call chicken pickn
Really found this helpful and its just what I needed at this point in my learning!! Thanks
I remember working with this a lot when I first taught myself how to play and was on an elite action acoustic that rivaled shred set electrics. Somewhere along the way, I abandon this skill.
Your mama didn't realize ????
I didn't realize that Sigourney Weaver could play the guitar.
Wow, you start with a completely diffrent lick then pull out and teach a suzie Q, geez dude where ya comin' from.
That first way sounded more like rake picking. I prefer that tone

I've always liked the style of picking loved the james burton and Elvis years
This started off look but then you made the actual lesson be something with a bend. Com on. Can't ANYONE explain this slowly and clearly using a simple guitar run?
What kind of G&L guitar is he playing. Sounds great!
