  • My current approach is using three fingers and using inversions and shells of extended chords. They sound like they tel a story which is quite cool

  • Hey Trevor! Thanks for the video!
When you play triads as an example, are they all minor? all major? or it depend on the note? I got lost there.
Same for the sus chords, are they sus2 or sus4 with the 7th as the melody?

  • Hello, I’m a singer-songwriter, but I want to move beyond just major and minor chords and make my harmonies richer. For example, I really like bossa nova music and would love to use those kinds of chords. However, I’m not sure if I need to learn a bunch of modes or be able to play guitar solos for that. All I really want is to play beautiful chords and sing songs, but I feel stuck and can’t move forward. Can you help me?

Also wish it were longer which proves that the length of the course was the exactly spot on.

  • This video about songwriting, for me, becomes an unintentional trial exhibit in the neverending saga of understanding why it has so seldom been the music major/conservatory/music theory evangelist-types who have contributed/produced anything consequential, memorable, meritorious, culturally valuable, or even so much as commercially successful to the greater pop culture zeitgeist of the last several decades.

The sterile, labcoat & charts mode of being "creative" winds up becoming lifeless songwriting for the sake of writing a song," whereas producing anything genuinely valuable has almost always proved to be born of the polar opposite approach…songwriting for the sake of creative urgency.

Is the best food ever created by following the recipe provided on the box? Idk. I highly doubt it. Typically, the shit that tastes best is the shit that isn't so rigidly crafted.
