  • What do you think about jbl305mk2 and kali lp6v2?I found pair of jbl’s for 140 dollars and one kali for 150 and I can’t decide between them(playing guitar)

  • I have Presonus E7 XT studio monitors What are your thoughts on those? And Also thoughts on the Adam T7v? I plan on buying the Volt interface and possibly the OX do i need to Mic it up? or will the Ox take care of that? Huge loaded questions lol

  • Man this is really inspiring me to get a setup like this, now I just have to sell all my guitars and amps to afford all of it ????

  • Great video ????. I too have a 1965 fender bassman, and just recently got an OX into a Scarlett 2i2 and Yamaha HS5s. Any advice on setting the line out setting on the OX? Can’t see from your video 100% if it’s set to max 10 or is it at around a 4 🙂 ?

  • Corey, awesome video. Do you think I could get a good sound with a Princeton going into the ox to interface and out to studio monitors?

I’m currently playing into my Princeton w/12” speaker and using a sound bar for metronome, lesson videos, and backing tracks. I’m always aware of my volume because it gets so loud. And I have three kiddos and wife at home. If I want a more over-driven sound I turn the Princeton down to a 4 and leave the morning glory on but turn the volume down on the pedal. It’s still loud haha.

I love the idea of recording myself on electric and I currently do for acoustic guitar.

  • Les Paul and Marshall Plexi continues to inspire me.

Very informative content about your gear and recording equipment..It interested me because you are a great player but definitely have a tone edge that is always next-level good !

  • Great stuff, killer tones! I go a similar route via Simplifier MKII and an X thru an old set of Event 20/20P Studio Reference monitors. Let's me great great tones at reasonable levels in my home. Also my Carr Slant 6V combo feeding a Fryette PS-100 or a Torpedo Cab M+ out thru the same monitors. Very similar set-up. The Events are old, and I'm sure not as great as the Adam but they serve me quite well. Cheers!

  • Thanks for the great demo but I don't understand how you view the Ox App and how that connects to the Ox. You explain that you plug guitar into your amp, then from the amp speaker outputs into the Ox then from the Ox into the Adam powered speakers. I assume the App is installed onto a PC or Laptop and then do you plug the PC into the Ox and do you use a USB cable for this, and where do you get the App from .. sorry but did I miss something?

  • I'm running Apollo x8p to Adam Audio A7V's at home and they sound incredible. How can I get this tone live? Are there certain cabinets/frfr speakers that sound as good as the AA's? Thank you for the great content! ????

  • Corey, really nice content on this video. I just got my Sire S7 this weekend (you're a bad influence, or a good one – depends on how you looks at it), and it is special – thanks for the video on that a while back, and it sounds great in this vid too. I can't believe the quality for the price – easily punches twice what I paid. My problem isn't recording guitars or vocals. It has always been recording drums. What do you use on your backing tracks? I currently am using Logic Pro, and I'm (trying) using EZDrummer3, but neither really give me what I want for flexibility of changing groove. I'm curious to what you and others do for drums (not real drums, of course), but computer drums?

  • Hi Corey, great video, thanks. I don’t record so could I use a UA amp pedal through a small mixer, going out to my Adam TV 5s? Would I lose sound quality compared to an interface? Thanks!

  • This is great if you already have tons of gear. But for regular people I recommend just getting some software plugin like BiasFX2, Helix Native or some Neural DSP one. Very cheap, lots of options and sounds great.

  • Is that loud in that room? I’m struggling to find good tones with my victory v40 and don’t think I’m cranking it enough

  • Great video Corey. I'm retired on a fixed income and can't justify $1,500 for the A7V's but have you any qualms on the TV-7's which are only $500/pair? I play at home thru my modeler and just want some decent stereo sound instead of my headphones or Fender Twin..

  • Thank you for your awesome content corey. Do you also use room correction while recording (sonarworks for example). The Adam A7v supports loading those corrections directly into the DSP inside them… Or what is yoir general opinion regarding these corrections?

  • Awesome ! I just ordered a set of these for my studio before I even saw this . I even have the Sound ID software and mic already to tweak when needed . You always have great tone !

  • Anyone can get great tones using any equipment anywhere in the world if they just use their damn ears for a second. Most noodlers obviously aren't capable of doing that but it's fairly easy to learn, even for numbnuts.

  • @corycongillio – Man you got me!! I got a pair of ADAM A7Vs and the difference between my previous budget monitors is like night and day. They're quite a bit louder too.. been turning a lot of things down in the chain. I also love tube amps and the Ox. JTM 45 and 6G6-B Bassman clones for me. These speakers are so much more revealing and showed me some nuances in tone I didn't hear before. Thanks for showing us!

  • Thanks for this, Corey. Very helpful. New here and subbed. I purchased a Volt 2, ToneX pedal, UA Del-Verb and next purchase will be on Adam speakers. For now I use headphones. Haven’t decided on the A7V or T7V, do you have experience with both? Also, you commented elsewhere that your Sire rivals your CS Fender, is it stock or did you modified it to get to that level?

  • all awesome stuff as usual…
thank you SO much fer all the free info…
i'm waiting for my 5inch Pre Sonus mons to get here, i have the 3.5" s now hooked up to my Mac mini, they sound So good i'm getting the big bros to give them a go.
fer my needs, Disabled/retired, they are in range of me budget AND i get to sound like a pro at low volumes, and having them fer Utube and tunes at my place, fer the $$$ should be great. again, many thanks fer all the awesome content & tunes. be well, stay safe, AND have a blast. thnx ;0) M

  • Awesome video Corey. Have you tried the Suhr Reactive Load or Two Notes compared to the Ox Box? I can't decide if I love that the OX has everything in 1 box or if I like the flexibility of being able to use my own IR's. I think I might get hung up on forever tweaking all the variables in the OX.

  • Hello Corey, can I ask you about the monitors, these that you showed are a bit expensive for me, but what about the Adam T5V, or do I need to look at other analogs in this price range, and is it necessary that the phase inverter be in the front?

  • Corey, thanks for taking us through your recording process for home. This reinforced some things I've been doing and other options via the OX. Cheers!!

  • Have I had an aneurysm? 70s hifi speakers for guitar. Ok, lets get moms kenwood.

  • What about just straight out guitar and amp with some effects I was looking at the fender tonemaster you can get it down to about 12 w and maybe use iPod for effects or some paddles what do you think and a sire guitar I'm pretty much old school but I am up before new school this is a great example what you need if you can afford all these toys I just play for myself but I would like to share something on Facebook or something this would be the way to go yes conventional a some speakers might work out just fine so you can buy Ox box and go and to your computer coming back out to the speakers and on the computer you can select from different sounds correct

  • So I’m not the only person who thought my modelers sound SO much better through my Adams monitors….

    Reply
  • hello. Why don't you compare with just guitar directly to interface, and then thro amp simulation software (Amplitube, THu, etc) ? ..can you get that way sound good enough for professional recordings?

  • How is the ox signal getting to the computer? I tend to use the digital out but struggle with keeping the signal from peaking. Any tips?

  • This advice is not wrong. But Cory’s setup is quite pricey. 4K range without an amp or guitar.

  • Hi Cory excellent video. The mic recording the Adam speakers is that recording your voice or do you have another mic? Being a professional musician did you incorporate yourself for tax and write off purposes or being in the union takes care of that? I’ve never been around a true professional to ask those questions. I would love some constructive criticism I have 4 videos in YouTube: E. Papa Scott Colvin. I love playing guitar. ????

  • Thanks for sharing this Corey! I love the sounds you get out of that setup. I thought I heard you say you could just hook the monitors directly to the OX. Did I hear that correctly? Can you still use the OX app if you hook it up that way?

  • Great video. Thanks for walking through the signal chain. Are there any speakers worth checking out that are a little more affordable? Have you tried the Adam T7V?

  • Super helpful video Corey! Thanks very much! I've been using an OX into a stereo HiFi amp and am thinking it's time to get some proper studio monitors. These look great. I like the idea of having both the pure and UNR mode for playing and listening to music. Thanks.

  • Hey Corey… super helpful video thank you… I’m using an ox also… it’s funny I thought I “needed” to use mics to get/have a legitimate recorded guitar tones in my home recording setup… you just proved you can totally commit to digital speaker emulation alone without mics

  • thx corey. All the gear out of my price range but maybe when i win the lottery ill upgrade ha ha thx again

  • The way to get great tones at home is exchanging expensive equipment for different expensive equipment. ????

  • Thanks for the Vid — extremely helpful! Quick question: how are you connecting the OX to the interface? Are you using an optical connection or analog quarter inch cables?
