This was my first time watching The Warning guitarist Daniela “Dany” Villarreal Vélez play her favourite guitar riffs from their latest album “Keep Me Fed” at Guitar World HQ, NY.
As a guitarist myself I love geeking out and watching nerdy guitar gear videos, so having Dany expand upon the writing process to some of their best riffs to date — this is a guitar enthusiasts dream come true!

Pretty sure that the discipline they learnt, as children growing up, to play their instruments. That would give them the ability to multi task on their instruments!

Explanation regarding the baritone guitar: her baritone guitar is tuned like a 7 string in drop A would be tuned except that it doesnt have the high E string. So the second highest string is actually a G instead of an F# as it would be in regular baritone tuning
The floppy strings in the first riff are probably down to camera settings.
The flapping is due to the small difference between the note being played and the frame rate of the camera or other element of the video signal path. Although many old people may denigrate Dany's playing and think that she isn't good enough to be presented on "serious" guitar platforms, the fact is that she is one of the faces of modern creative guitar playing to thousands of young guitar players. Kinda like the works of impressionists upsetting the lovers of epic Renaissance art.
Impossible to not love Dany, she such a character and professional at the same time.

Dany is such a sweetheart, with such a radiant personality. She is so nice and yet such a savage guitar player and one of the best vocalists in rock or any other genre! She and her sisters are a gift from the rock gods!

Dany is music, she is all music. I bet that is why she is so likable. She is oozing with feelings and she is conveying her words in such a way you sip in every word she speaks and every riff she plays. The whole band is that way. That´s why it doesn´t matter if you see them play or just talking, because they are so real and really like what they are doing.
KMF live is a great album. Studio version, way too poppy and fuzzy. The girls have alluded to it themselves, saying they will take a different direction on album 5.
I agree I think Keep me Fed is my favorite The Warning album.
