The meat thing about both directions of that noise burst is something that I figured out on Tuesday, 17 June 2025 while I was listening to the Moody Blues album Days of Future Passed. Took me 25 years to work out that the opening sound on Side 1 is a tape reversal of the sound that ends Side 2, a Chinese gong strike.
