Best Octave Pedal For Bass – Acoustic Guitar Loop – Micro POG – David Dixon #shorts

I’ve performed solo looping for years and this is the best bass octave pedal I’ve found. Performed one-man band style live loops full time for the last several years, and I researched a lot of these pedals. The Electro Harmonix Micro POG was the best real bass sound of all the pedals I tried. It was a game-changer for my solo show. Check it out (no affiliation, just a great find and nice piece of gear).

Also, if you are interested, I recently published a book full of all things music business and actual music lessons (and also funny gig stories and life lessons), it’s the book I wished was available when I first started performing full time.

  • Do you put octaver pedal before the looper or after the looper, the problem I have is pedal changing the sound of previously recorded loops.

  • My friend. It sounds great but I play bass. That doesn’t sounds like a bass. It adds low end but that isn’t what a bass sounds like. Even with a pedal you can’t process an extra 13 inches of extra fretboard and 105 gauge Rotosounds. I’d lay a way different line to that progression. One that doesn’t hit just the wholes but make your chords sound better in the groove.

  • Why not run an OC3 or OC5 and you can have it running a direct out of only bass sound of only your bottom two strings? That way you could run bass and rhythm in one swoop.

  • Sweet sound. I've tried to use octave effects before for the same purpose and been pretty disappointed. Hope your channel takes off. You've got a lot of great, kind of, applied theory tips that I've been loving.
