GS Mini Bass Guitar | A Bass Player’s Best Friend | Taylor Guitars

GS Mini-e Bass: http://tylrgt.rs/2iLDj3a

Recording artist, film composer, and session musician Ram demos the Taylor GS Mini Bass, a small-scale acoustic bass that features specially made strings with a nylon core for responsiveness and playability. With a punchy tone and surprising power, the GS Mini Bass is a great option for recording, practice, and live play, and its small size makes it a perfect choice for traveling musicians.

  • Can you put nickel strings on it like elixir nanoweb strings for nornal electric bass? Because i really hate bronze nylon strings

  • That’s the first demo video I see without horrible fret buzz. So I wonder if it’s just the player, who knows how to play it or if Taylor spent some more time on this particular instrument? I don’t think there’s much that you could tweak after you bought the bass.. (i.e. bridge to adjust the action)

  • I just bought mine and I fell In love at the store. And when I came home I watched this video… and I felt the same way

  • As a guitarist loving to play bass once in a while, I tried this thing in a music store, cause it was so "cute". It delivered lots of bass unplugged. My way bigger acoustic bass has no chance holding against that little sucker.

  • I’m a bassist by trade, and played most of the big name basses over the last 30 years.

As I’ve gotten older, my musical tastes, interests, and playing style have changed.

I eventually sold off all of my gear, and have been playing the Kala Ubass, which I love, exclusively for the last year. Sounds great, easy to play, and easy to travel with. One of my very favorite basses that I’ve ever owned.

I’ve been watching videos on this bass, and finally tried one today. I had no idea what to expect. Needless to say, I bought it right there and on the spot.

Most of the videos out there don’t do the sound of this bass much justice.

This is a beautifully constructed instrument, it’s solid, plays great, and the strings really feel good.

This is a huge step forward for acoustic basses.

    Kudos, Taylor.

  • I played one of these at a guitar center and loved it, it has a better sound than most of the full sized acoustics and was easy and fun to play. If I could afford it I'd buy it!

  • I tried one of these out at GC when they first came out, and I was not impressed. But hearing what Ram does with his, I think I'll have to take a second look. Of course, my level of skill will never come close to his!
