  • I honestly can't hear much of a difference tbh! The XS strings are super solid. I've been using them on my acoustics and electrics for a bit now and they sound great for a long time! They also don't flake like elixirs. Nice video!

  • These would blow elixir away at ease , not a fan of that nanoweb coating however to dull, these on tuning is unbearable, and they don’t half ring out, and life, they offer everything, what more can I say, I’ve tried them all , these are a must, done about 10 gigs now and they sound as good, bless ye daddario, ♥️????????????????????????????????

  • I usually use elixir and have always been pleased with the longevity of them the tone chances so slowly that you don’t notice it until you replace them normally about 4 months for m,e, I usually notice a few tuning issues after about 4 months apart from that they sound ok.
I have been interested in in trying the Dadario xs for some time guess I’ll give them a go

  • Just curious, how is the coating after 6 months? Because I'm allergic to nickel and coated strings are the only strings I've not tried.

  • Awesome demo! I use Elixir Polyweb acosutic 11-52 strings on my Taylor. My Taylor plays brightly but I actually am curious of these XS strings since I used D'addario ages ago.

  • Nobody can tell another player what is "best".
If you're hunting for "The Sound" — you need to go with what YOU like.
Whatever your ears an hands tell you… go that direction!.

  • Zach what bridge pins are on your Martin? I just got a 000-18 and was thinking of switch them out for something else, potentially bone or tusq.

  • I'm a fan of the D'Addario XS set, but there's no way you think the old set sounds exactly the same as the new set – no way at all. Don't oversell it. I'm using a phone speaker and there's a clear difference. It's okay to say you don't really mind the difference – my set still has some brilliance after 2 months – but don't say they sound exactly the same

  • Check out Stringjoy. I started off with an acoustic set, and I have now replaced the strings on every one of my gtrs acoustic and electric with stringjoy. They are a little pricey, but I don’t need to change them as often.

  • Felt that the new set rang out a bit more for strumming & fingerstyle. Not by much though
