sounds amazing but not as amazing as the martin mahogany hmm er suppose is really neat though i likes this guitar and might buy this yes!
I received my orangewood rey last night. It was packed ok. Not great but no damage to the box so it was in great shape. How are they selling this for 139 bucks? This is a nice guitar. Decent fit and finish and the blems is small I had to be super picky and thorough. Most will not even notice. And out of the box, it plays well. The action is a little high for my taste but it plays much better than I expected. I opted for the kit as well. I never use nylon strap so I bought a nice leather one. But the kapo picks and picks holder as well as winder and the digital tuner were worth the extra money as well the gig bag is fantastic. I cannot say enough how great it is. Strings suck though as expected. I put ernie ball edgewood on it. I never use factory strings. Your video was instrumental on my purchase. I am stuck in a hospital room for 100 days. And wanted a decent practice guitar that if something happened to it I would not be hugely upset. So thanks.
How much was this guitar retail when it came out?
I love the satin finish.
Just ordered a mason love from them and im so stoked! Awesome playing????
im getting mine in 2 days can’t wait
Thank you for the clarifications about environment and sound recording in this most excellent review (:
I’m buying the step-up model from the Rey, the Morgan Live – I think it will be awesome!
I just got mine this week & I had a problem with how the G string, open & fretted sounded. It sounded bad to me, but turns out that's just how it sounds on these guitars. Will need some getting used to. I also had to lower my action some to get better sounding chords.
I just bought one of these (my first guitar) and so far I like it but since it's my first I'm not entirely sure how it should sound…I think it sounds fine, the strings are shiny and smooth, but I don't know how old they are. Should I replace them? I just received it yesterday.
A beginner question, since it's made in USA, can I ship it to other countries without having to worry if it'll survive the Tropical climate of my place ?
I've grown an interest in guitars these days and in a short time, I've been learning so many things I didn't know about guitar XD I love how mahogany guitars sound and was trying to find a guitar under $200 that still had a sound that I like. Then I came across Orangewood! And I'm glad I did bc although I was eyeing Yamaga guitars, they weren't mahogany. Spruce sounds a bit too bright for my tastes(still good though). Once I heard how this guitar sounded, I fell in love. I was trying to find reviews and demos but found mostly the Oliver one. I quite like the Oliver Mahogany but it's currently out of stock. But I was trying to search for the Rey one at first anyway so 😛 This one just sounds so beautiful and I'm really considering buying it soon but I'm also reluctant and hesitant bc school is coming up and I'm just hoping I have enough time to practice….
Nice demo Old guy, do you know if the sound hole is big enough to put a Dean Markley pick up?
How is the action on it? Is it fairly low?
Is it possible to be plugged into an amp?
I have the Oliver mahogany with the black binding. I cannot believe that you get so much guitar for less than $200(sure the case adds a little bit more but the gig bag is definitely worth the extra couple bucks)
Hello! nice review. Maybe for easier recording check out ROLAND GO MRO mixer. very easy to setup and very good sound, your videos will be great!! Cheers!!!
Would you recommend this guitar for a beginner guitar over other guitars under 200$
Nice job. I have a Taylor 114e as my daily driver for about 5 years and was interested in the cutaway design. I think I may snag one at this price point.
Im curious how people are getting freebies from Orangewood guitars and how do i get my freebee
I just ordered the spruce version, will report back.
