  • Ok, I was just searching information about this guitar and I found a great channel to follow.

  • My nylon guitar just like the one you have seems to have a bulge. I put a straight edge side to side behind the bridge and its a least a quarter inch gap. I don't know if thats normal or not. All my other acoustics don't have this.

  • ✅ I was looking at purchasing one of these a couple of years ago because it looks beautiful, but the thin body and a lack of low end drove me towards buying a Cordoba Orchestra CE, which I hadn't ever heard of before (it's American company, but built in China, and for once I don't have a problem with that due to its build quality. They were bought by Yamaha who is now owned by Guild, so they obviously appreciated something).

It's a "crossover" guitar, and one of the main reasons for buying it was because of it having an onboard microphone in addition to the saddle pickup (yes, two built-in pickups!), plus a knob on the Fishman electronics that allows me to "blend" a mixture of the two, and the sound quality is great. The difference in wood (I previously bought a C5-CE, but returned it and spent a little more money on the ugradeded model) also makes this particular guitar stunning to look at. It has an excellent all-over finish, and the workmanship is superb because their attention to detail is excellent. I was pleasantly surprised.

…but I'm back looking at these Fenders again – the price seems very reasonable. I appreciate your video, and your playing is excellent. How do you feel about it since the inital purchase? I hope that your shoulder is okay! ????

  • I was on the fence about buying this guitar, so I had to check some reviews. Yours was the first one that popped up, and I'm happy to say that I clicked "buy".

  • Guitar Guitar in Glasgow has this for £369. Decided to check out a few reviews, then i saw you and decided to make sure you were ok. My fears were misplaced, you hadn't passed away with a guitar on your lap. Liked the Russian song, like Yul Brynner with hair. I was going to go back to Guitar Guitar and click 'Buy' but then you picked the Ovation up. Now I don't know, again. I do have a damaged left hand though, so the neck might be better for me, plus I'll probably be able to hook my thumb over the top. Ok, its getting bought.

  • Thanks for these reviews John. I'm starting to write some more Spanish songs, but I'm a bit terrified of Spanish guitar necks- so this is very interesting.

  • Hi John thanks for a great review, I am an accoustic steel string player and also play electric Fender, please could you advise me if this would be suitable for me to start playing classical, as I love the sound of it, I've tried a few classicals in the last month but can't seem to cope with the wide fretboard and a few of them had really high action and were well known makes, I would be willing to pay more for something that you could recommend just like the Ovation you play for recording, I don't know if it’s the same measurements as the Fender, I would be very grateful for your help, Many Thanks Ian

  • Excellent review and very handy comparison with the Ovation at the end to hear the difference straight off the body unplugged.

  • Nice review! I was searching Youtube for a review of this model and to find a fellow Scotsman demo'ing one is exactly what I needed! Reckon I'll pick one up as I've never owned a nylon string acoustic before.
