This is the sound demo of a custom bass I built for a client (per his specs). It started out as a P-bass kit from The Fretwire. I re-shaped the horns to look more aggressive, and made a custom wood pickguard. The pickups are Music Man style alnico V pickups in the neck and bridge position, and a p-bass alnico V pickup in the middle. Controls are v/v/v for each pickup. Sounds good but you’re a good bass player – I think it’s pretty ridiculously.
That Sound Is Gorgeous. Mid n Neck made me smile, groovy tune
What pots did you use for the volumes? 500k? Thanks for the video.
Sounds deadly mon
Very interesting design. Nice sound. I like HB-P a lot. Why don't more do this??
beautifull!
I really like the shape of the headstock.
Now or now?
Dude!!!
Well that's really nice play Dan….. what pickups ? LoL
nice bass, may i know what pot and cap value you are using?
Cool Bro.
I like middle + bridge pick configuration
Run that neck in Parallel and it will give you a better tone with less output.
What, no Dan-O sound? Regardless, sounds and looks great!
Well. This thing is awesome. I will have to remember this configuration
MM bridge, split with a push pull volume, and a P like a Squier 51
How does someone contact you for a guitar refret? Ty. Jeff
That bridge pickups is beack there!! The middle n bridge sounds nice! All three together also was neat yea Billy's tone isn't my taste he's killer of a player but its just not a bass guitar sounding bass
There's quite a difference in tone between the E string and the rest.
Who makes the humbuckers you have in the werewolf ?
Very unique build. I prefer the split single tone.
Are the pickups active or passive? Tks
middle & bridge had such a nice tone!
My ideal bass. Just move the pickups all up an inch or so! If I have to get used to picking in a different part of the bass, then oh well.
Phenomenal bass! Great playing and awesome groove!
I probably would have stacked the MM pickups closer without the P and added a Tone. Otherwise the Series Parallel P Bass is pretty damn good alone. Maybe add a Neck Rail humbucker with a PBass split and separate outputs. One for fuzz and one for clean
Wich Song is this?
How I wish I could get one of your works….KSA …have no custom made guitars
But why this bridge? there are awesome bridges out there
Lining up pole pieces directly centered under strings isn't super important on bass. Even the Sterling by MusicMan Stingray HHs use the same pickup in the bridge and the neck. Yes, even their $1k basses have a neck pickup that doesn't exactly match the string spacing. And they sound great. Another example: I got a cheap Jazz Bass and the neck pickup hole in the pickguard was 1/8" off center. When I got a new pickguard to remedy the "problem," there was ZERO difference in output with the pole pieces lined up "correctly." IMO, this Werewolf Bass would sound way better if all 3 pickups were 2" closer to the neck. That would match a Stingray HH and P-Bass exactly. But to each their own. I know different factors are more important to different people.
That sounds MEATY! I’d roll off the tone a little and play some funk on that bass. Great job!
I don’t play metal then proceeds to kill it.
Cool sounding bass. I did not like all three pickups at once. It seems like they canceled out the signal.
Great looking bass.
Hey pal, i need your services! I want a custom bass like yours!
I like all 3 pickups. My second favorite is the neck & middle pickups.
Surprisingly awesome. Good rig that would work with fusion
All 3 pickups are great~
NECK AND P IS MY CHOICE
Middle+Bridge
Neck plus Bridge sounds amazing
I wish there was a tutorial on how to make it
Sobrou espaço… dava pra colocar uns 3 "J" antes do braço
Jesus, that must be heavy!
Love this build so much <3
Sounds great.
I always wondered what a bass would look like if it were injected with steroids. Now I know.
Love everything about this!!
Hi Dan, are the 2 coils of the MM alnico V pickups wired in series or parallel ? And I assume the 3 pickups are wired in parallel via the 3 volume pots, similar to a J bass, right ?
Did you do the J neck / P bridge bass?
