  • Oh so when you split your bass youre REALLY splitting it up then. instead of having 2 different EQ's crossing over at the same frequency youre basically dipping out everything from 250 to 500? Never thought of doing that. may have to give it a try.

I always tend to forget to Low pass things too. I need to be more diligent when it comes to hi and low passing things

  • sometimes it works to high pass the guitars up to 120hz and it makes both the bass and guitar breathe a lot more

  • Hey Miami, insanely useful video as always!
    I got 3 questions.

    1. You mentioned to high pass guitars at around 80 hz, I’m wondering if I should go even lower with low tuned guitars.

    2. Secondly, when choosing which one to cut in the sub area, how do you usually approach to pick either of them? I guess it usually depends on the context, but once again, do you consider the tuning of the bass guitar? With lower tuned bass guitar I guess it makes sense to cut the kick drum.

    3. Lastly, what’s the benefit of side chaining bass eq on the kick in the low areas instead of a compressor? Do you use them both?

    Thanks!

  • It seems like every time I try to use side chain in JST EQ it crashes the whole project. Idk why but it could literally be the only plugin in the whole project and it would still crash. Everything else though I love it!
