In this Mrs. Robinson guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all the chords to this acoustic classic by Simon & Garfunkel.
The tuning is standard tuning with a capo at the second fret. The use of the capo doesn’t mean this is an “easy version” of this song. Instead, Paul Simon uses a capo at the second fret on the original recording. It would be much more difficult to play in the original key without using a capo.
There are only two chord progressions and a main riff to learn for this one, so hopefully it won’t take you very long to get this one down.
I am sticking with the main chords here and not focusing on all the guitar overdubs that you can here on the recording that contain all of those licks that are filing up the sound. Instead, this is more of a one guitar version like Paul Simon would play live that just sticks with the chords.
Have fun with this great acoustic classic from Simon & Garfunkel! #mrsrobinsonguitarlesson #simon&garfunkel #faithguitars

Thank you! Now I can play it!
Thanks for all you do brother
Thank you for showing the most accurate sounding intro compared to others on YouTube. The original is 3 guitars layered but, this is an excellent accurate sounding version for a single guitar.

Wow… graet job. Thank you GuitarLessons365song
First time i have ever left a comment on any of these lesson channels but i just have to give you props. You and the “Shut up and play” guy are the absolute best. You consistently NAIL down every detail of every song and it is always 100% accurate. When i look for a lesson on a specific song and see u come up i always click on your lesson as opposed to anyone else because i know it is correct. I play live solo shows and you are my go to guy to learn good new songs quickly. I like that you pick challenging songs also. Your Billy Joel “She is always a woman” was perfect on finger style guitar. Took me 2 days to learn it but finally got it. I sincerely appreciate your dedication and attention to detail. Keep up the great work with this channel. Oh and your ‘Seasons” Cornell lesson was amazing also. Oh one more thing i like is that you dont try to teach people how to play basic open chords during the lesson as some you tube teachers do. Like if you dont know how to play basic open chords yet then you shouldn’t even be trying to learn songs yet. Just saying ???????????? Keep up the great lessons 365 guy
Thank you so much.
MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS FROM SPAIN–
Thank you
great tutorial as allways very clear and easy to understand than you so much other tutorial too boring the tack to much crap????
This some advanced level im gonna keep on learning
Only now i learned this song. I like your syncopated strumming of the intro. It took me a while before i got the technic. Thank you for your step by step guide.
Carl, your ear has gotten so good. I'm very impressed, and every year you are better.
Great lesson! Is there a slight change to the strumming pattern between G Em, and C Am?
Great lesson, thank you!
Thanks for this! I think you're the only one on YouTube that shows the intro correctly. Not a difficult song, but that intro used to give me fits. Thanks!
Great, thank you. Would love to see a tutorial on 'Anji' as performed on the S&G album, thanks
that first up stroke E is a great tip
Another brilliantly worked out lesson???? especially that intro riff that makes the song ????thankyou
Carl is one of the most accurate teacher on youtube, I spent weeks on his "old man" tutorial, he explains every nook and cranny of the songs
Mamma mia grandissimo ????????
Thanks Carl
Wonderful explanation. Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would really like to understand what Garfunkel is playing differently to Simon.
Mute the low E in the intro?
I enjoyed your lesson. It is a great song to learn…
Many Thanks for the lesson, very clear!
Hey thanks.
Killer lesson for an acoustic classic! Thanks! Not a lot of needless detail. I Like his smooth and easy style of teaching.
What’s with the singing comments? Can you hear any part of this and not sing?
Great tutorial as always but…I learn these tunes so when I go visiting or someone thrust a guitar in my hand I can play something 🙂 Don't carry a capo nor a pick. Would be nice to play along with you that's all
The best tutorial out there! Great work! Nice guitar btw????

Thanks Carl!! Great tune and it was my very first top 45 vinyl single as a kid, the year it was released! Now… ugh 50+ years gone. Wow.
Hey Carl, could you do a lesson on eye of the beholder by Metallica please?
Okay, your singing got my dog howling now make him stop.

Wonderful Song..
Great lesson. Nice little addition is to bend the B string on the Am chord with your pinkie to get that little riff Paul Simon plays.
Teach us how to play instruments of destruction by NRG Please!!!!!!
I've never heard of this song, but I learned most of it!
Also, I would love it if you did some more Steve Vai or satriani. Love your lessons by the way I owe almost all of my guitar skills to you.
I was learning this a few weeks ago and had a hard time figuring the timing so thank goodness you made a lesson video!
