The Vintage Modified Bass VI delivers authentically vintage-style look and tone, with a few modern touches such as a comfortable “modern C” neck profile and 9.5″ fingerboard radius (the originals were 7.25″), and three custom Jaguar single-coil pickups with notched “claw” shielding rings (reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup).

Forgive me if I'm ignorant, but if the middle pickup has reverse polarity does that mean it will have an out-of-phase sound if you put it on together with one of the others?
I love what he’s playing. Can anyone recommend some music that sounds like this? I would love to listen to an entire jazz album on just this guitar, no other instruments.

fun fact this was used HEAVILY on the beatles white album because it was more comfortable for when john or george wanted to do bass parts, examples are back in the USSR and helter skelter

Most buyers in forums said they replaced the pickups , nut , tuners.
It would be better if squier put in better quality parts so buyers won't have to replace them.
Just so you can play the Wichita Lineman solo.
If you put thinner guage strings on it, could it be tuned to baritone tuning? or maybe like 3 steps above E?

Various reviewers of this bass have said 1) "The strings are too thin, you must replace them." Not true, the strings are fine, they play great. 2) "This isn't really a bass guitar." Not true; it's a bass guitar! 3) "Don't expect to be able to play this right out of the box." Not true, it plays great right out of the box. 4) "This isn't for conventional bass playing, it's to be used experimentally." Not true, it's a 6 string bass guitar and works great in all kinds of contexts. 5) "The build quality is not very good." Not true. The build quality is just fine, there's nothing to object to. 6) "The bridge should be replaced." Not true. Leave it alone! 7) "This is a weird bass guitar." Weird? What is that supposed to mean? Again: it's a 6 string bass guitar. The only feature I don't make use of is the tremolo arm. The Fender Squier Bass VI plays great and sounds great.

when I was a young teen I remembered seeing a 6 string Bass guitar Built like a jaguar with a Normal 6 string Start head …. I have mentioned that guitar for DECADES to almost every musician I had known and NOBODY had A FECKING clue what I was talking about

Man this is an innovation I’ve never seen or heard a bass that is also unlike a guitar.
It retains what appear to be guitar pickups, shorter scale length, guitar machine heads, and sounds like a guitar with the bass turned up and the tone turned down.
