THE BEST CHEAP ELECTRIC GUITAR under $300 (yes, really!) guitar review and demo

This is the Mitchell MS450 Modern “Les Paul style” electric guitar for beginners. It’s amazing, especially at this price point. From here on out this is the cheap guitar I will compare all other cheap guitars to. And I might even compare all guitars to it, period. Yes, it’s that good.

Note: this guitar is now discontinued and replaced by the Mitchell MS470. I will do a full Mitchell MS470 guitar review when I can!

I bought this guitar for $200 brand new from Guitar Center. It’s the GC / Musician’s Friend store brand. Regular price is $400.

One question to you…I already have a squier strat trying to get a new guitar and I dont care about brand I just need a good guitar. Im looking at LTD EC456 and MS470. Which on should I gor for? Whats your recommendation? Thanks!????

  • I bought one on a wh as a deal of the day. I had the md300 and it was pretty solid. This guitar if you get a good one is absolutely awesome. I have recorded a ton with it and have used different gauge strings without modifying the nut and have tuned it from drop C to standard and it has held up perfect. It's a sleeper for sure. Pickups also scream on high gain. It really is a great guitar. Payed $200 for mine as well. The md300 is a shred style. Basically same hardware with a rail bucket up in the neck and 24 frets. Also a killer axe. Mitchell is doing well by my book. I have a standard American Strat too and I haven't been touching it. Lol

  • This video is by far the most sincere I have seen in a long time. Congratulations for the channel and for the excellent content it transmits to guitarists, who love a guitar that, in terms of quality and price, is the best option on the market. Greetings from Guatemala.????????????????????

  • New subscriber; an older soon-to-be beginner, doing research before buying a guitar (without much $$). I expect I'll learn a lot here before I am ready to buy. But just when I had narrowed choice down to Yamaha PAC112V or Squier Affinity, now I see this video…

  • I purchased the Honey Burst like yours.
The flame maple top is super nice for the money. Much like yours, mine came set up and stays in tune. What a great deal!

  • I wish you could see the one I had to repair. The pickups were glued in. Once I fixed it up and made a cool ???? ground wire, fixed the wood damage and added all new electrical…. it was nice. No coil tap anymore. Sounds better.

  • Thanks fir you're review I just picked one up in Black Cherry. It looks lite weight and a great sound. The neck action must be amazing! Is the guitar lite weight?

  • You bought a guitar with coil taps. You don't like coil taps. You kind of make it sound like a negative thing that it comes with coil taps. Why? I happen to like Coral tops. All you really need to say is it comes with coil taps and I don't use coil tabs but maybe you will. You may enjoy getting many more sounds out of your guitar. why not presented as a positive. In my humble opinion presenting a wonderful feature that comes on a guitar at that price as a negative thing contradicts that "this is THE best guitar for under $300.
It just kind of bugs me.

  • I have 2 of these guitars and for the price they are a steal…they sound great right out of the box…coil taps…maple single cut…locking tuners…hummbuckers…60 radius neck…22 jumbo medium frets…I have some guitars that I bought at 4x the price and the MITCHELL 450 blows them away right out of the box…if you don’t have 1 of these get to GC and get one.!
