Don’t Give Up

There is one single note in the bass line which is often missed when people learn it and even Tony Levin himself misses this note when playing the song live.

In this lesson we’ll learn both versions of the riff and look at how the Intro differs from the verse. Don’t give up on learning this amazing piece!

The Bass Chordal Riff 

This riff is in the Key of C minor and features a heavily muted sound with a touch of chorus effect to really bring out those tones. It’s in 3/4 time, which you can also count as 6/8.

The Bit People Get Wrong

Now there’s one tiny difference to how Tony actually plays the introduction and that’s to play F instead of G in bar 2 as shown on the stave and TAB Below.
