Blues Bass Solo in C – In The Style of “Rack ’em Up”
Here’s a fun Bass Solo for a Blues in C
It’s based on the trombone solo from the Jonny Lang song Rack ’em Up
from the 1997 album “Lie to Me”
It’s a solo that works well on bass in an trio format or a small band.
The notes used for this solo are mostly the notes from the C Blues scale: C-Eb-F-F#-G-Bb.
Except for one A in bar 7 over the C7 chord.
The end of the chord progression uses the classic I-VI-II-IV (1-6-2-5) turnaround instead of the regular V-IV-I-V turnaround.
You can find the transcription at:

and the mp3 version & audio backing track without the solo at:
I hope you enjoy and have fun learning this solo.

I am obviously late to the party and I came across this totally by accident but this is my favourite Johnny Lang song and your transcript here is amazing! Thank you!
