  • I’ll bet you that a 5 string gives you 1 more string than a 4 string. I’m just guessing tho ????‍♂️

  • first of all .. 5 and 6 string basses have been around since the beginning of electric basses. its not anything crazy.

second. basses are tuned in fifths. the fifth string is just a low B, the pattern doesnt change at all. the other strings remain the same.

third. 5 string basses are common. pop metal and rock just uses 4 string basses because they dont really care about advancing technicality.

in current popular music, there is a large demand for bass players but less demand for guitarists, which is why 5 and 6 string basses are coming to light.

please dont be cringe for views. its about 8 years late for that.

there isnt any difference switching from 4 string to 5 or 6. you just need to know why and how to keep the strings muted.

if you practice music theory and not tab, changing amounts of strings wont matter to you.

  • na noodle to get the B string worked. minor patterns descending down very morbid. 143 ,hole step down 143 ,hole step down 143. ,half step down . octave sliding on the G and A in minor pattern B as a pedal tone. you'll get it. ,the 5 string is awesome.
