  • I bought a Taylor 210ce in about 2010 before they began making the 210 and 214 in Mexico What is the difference between the 210ce and 214ce

  • I love that the pattern in the top wood in each guitar is slightly different. I own this guitar which I bought in 2020. Check out the ebony fretboard next time you change your strings and you'll notice that you're putting a LOT of wear into it. That's not a bad thing. I think it says a lot of you as a player.
It should also be noted that the top is solid wood while the back and sides are laminated. I love my guitar but if it was stolen, I may go for a 314 since it's totally solid and American-made whereas the 214 is made in Mexico.

Also note that the sound in these guitars will improve with age and the more you play it.

  • Nice review! – the sincerity in your voice in this presentation makes this review easy to listen to, and the way you explain how the 214 works for you and your different techniques really drives home what you're saying

  • Thanks for the review Kim. Nice short and to the point. I totally agree in that the sound is remarkable for the price.

  • Thanks for the review Kim – I’m interested in trying one of these guitars and I’ve read reviews that comment on how low the action is and how easy on the fingers it is to play. So I’m wondering whether you feel the guitar is easy to play further down the neck and whether the action remains consistently low? Would the action be more comparable to that of an electric guitar?

  • Have it and love it. Some guitars feels like you almost have to wrestle the sound out of them, this one just plays itself… almost. Great guitar!

  • Great review, thanks! I bought one recently and very impressed. I felt the tone is brighter and fuller than some all solid guitars it tried!

  • Did you play happen to play the plus or deluxe versions? If you did what differences did you notice? There aren't any shops that sell Taylor near me do I can't go and see the difference for myself.
