I packed up the first act MG433 from a yard sale for 10$ which is their dreadnought model. I have to say it really sounds good with I good set of strings . It's no Taylor or Martin by a long shot but I got it sounding better then a epiphone of the same size
Are they worth $40? I can get one for that. Its a 3/4 size but I prefer those these days.
For 80.00 what do u expect. I'm amazed it holds tune. It's nice for 80.00 a sheet of plywood is 80.00 lol
It makes a great Parlor Guitar, & it sounds lovely. I restrung mine w/ Thomastik Infeld Jazz Swing Extra Lights cause Flatwounds would save the frets from scratches.
Garbage picked the classic variant out of the garbage and i just need to finish putting strings on it but the low 3 sound awesome so far. Cant beat a free little fiddler picker.
Love it for a lightweight travel guitar I don’t have to be too cautious about like my Jackson.

You're supposed to fold down the top of the guitar chord cards so that they hang onto the neck of the guitar. They won't slide down when folded. That's why that top part is black and has the chord name on it for quick reference.

I have one for my son…. He’s sugar coating this review. Terrible guitar, it’s basically a toy that holds tune. 7:24 $80 is too expensive, it’s bad.
Only recommend for little kids or if you’re not sure they’ll stick to guitar. If your child’s preteen or teen spend another $50 get a real guitar.
Sounds fine when picking singular notes 5:24. Completely falls apart when strumming. 7:44 Made of cheap wood so won’t resonate well

What’s the difference between a first act guitar and a normal guitar??
I found an old one of these in my mom's basement and tried fixing it up. I'm having trouble with the bridge pins though.
With like 10 to 20 bucks more you can buy a Rogue 090, which is like 5x better
So I'm watching this cause I found one at a goodwill for 6 dollars. I'm a grown ass man… buuut I started learning music on a mandolin so I'm down to clown for the size. I plan on using it as a camping guitar since it is so small and light weight. And for six bucks and a few hours making minor adjustments to the pegs and amd replacing strings it's been pretty good!
So I watched this video last year, and today while I was at Ross (a discountoverstock department store) I saw this exact guitar on clearance for $17 and I bought it on a whim because I remembered this review. For $17 brand new I'm pleasantly surprised that it's even playable. After doing about half an hour of adjustment and cleaning up some absolutely brutally sharp frets, this is going to become my beater guitar that I can tote around with me without worrying about treating it too gently. 🙂
The guitars First Act made pre 2017 are much better and more variety in styles you could get, but also because of that fact that's why a toy company owns them now and their models and types have dwindled to next to nothing. If anyone wants to get a good starter guitar for their kid in First Act brands the years 2008 to 2016 seem to be the best builds of the brand. Before the person starts lessons is to get the frets fixed, polished, etc. and better strings! My first electric was First Act single cutaway without a pick guard in all black and at the time I bought it I had a local professional musician try it out since I hadn't started learn yet and he said "It's alright, just needs finishing work on on the frets, the board polished, and new better strings(he preferred Ernie Ball) and the tuners tighten up. But, other than that pretty good for a starter from a big box general retail store.". Got the work done and worked pretty well, until I fell on hard time and had to sell it for what I could at the time which was half of what I bought it for brand new along with the amp. But I'm convinced the 2008 to 2016 built ones are worth looking at.

how did the guitar play after you changed up the strings?
im trying to learn how to play it but idk because every time i press down on it enough to do something, it doesnt do ANYTHING.
My first electric guitar was a Frist Act, my parents gave it to me on christmas when i was 12. Now have 28 and i still have it. Maybe its the sentimental value or i dont know but i love the sound and the way that it feel when i play it, and the beautiful red candy color.
Nice review, but I would like to ad a couple things. There is no truss rod, so no neck adjustment can be made. Although it is steel reinforced so it probably won't need it. Lower action by sanding saddle bottom. Paid $26 for mine new at toys r us just before the closed. Stays in tune surprisingly well. But initial price new is way to high. A lot better guitar can be bought for just a little more

I want to learn but as a college student I obviously don't have a lot of money. I found a new one at Target for $40, same exact guitar just a little cheaper than yours, and brown. Would this be okay for me to begin learning to play?

I bought one at 18 just to learn. It was good for me lol. But i still don't have a better one cause money, so i play on a different guitar my friend has. But i recommend for kids.
