  • It surprised me. When I heard how much the clean channel became crunchy with the boost, I thought the drive channel would have too much distortion for a JTM45 and not sound like the amps. That was not the case. It sounded quite a bit like going from the low input on my Plexi clone to the high input. The same tone, but more gain. That's how it should be. Lots of JTM45 and JMP pedals, modellers and plugins get that wrong. They have far more distortion than those amps actually have, or even than a JCM 800 2203 has (my Plexi clone needs to be cranked with something boosting it a bit to get into Angus Young live solo tones territory, or EVH etc — they are not high gain preamps at all really).

  • The thumbnail contains the Softube Marshall Plexi 1959SLP, which isn't even a part of the video content it self. Nice clickbait.

  • The video title is confusing…hasn't TC Electronic always been on the affordable side? I mean most of their pedals are between $49-159

  • Nice review, mate! I just think something that shouldn't be clipping was. Maybe the mixing interface, I don't know.

    Either way, great video!
