Adding Dead Notes To A Walking Bass Line – No Treble
In this lesson, we’ll explore ways to add some rhythmic panache to our walking bass lines. One great way to do that is with dead notes!
We’ll examine a common jazz chord progression, the I-vi-ii-V, and integrate dead notes at different places within the bar. This will add a bounciness to the overall feel and can serve as an excellent exercise for timing and adding rhythmic nuance to a quarter-note walking bass.
