Schecter Hellraiser C1 FR Review: Black Cherry Electric Guitar Research

Trying out the Schecter Hellraiser C1 FR Special for a while now to get you this review and decided to do some research on it. It’s a great electric guitar if you want to play metal.

Check the latest prices and availability of the Schecter Hellraiser C-1 here: https://amzn.to/3qDGz1M
(if you buy something through this link I might earn a commission at no extra cost to you, it’s how I support my channel)

I would not recommend it for other playing styles, but I’ve reviewed quite a few more metal guitars on my blog here: https://neaera.com/best-guitar-for-metal-11-reviewed-from-6-7-even-8-strings/

  • Just got one with a sustaniac. For anyone considering, that will give you more versatility if you're looking now. A little pricier but well worth it

  • They are not "neck thru" they are set neck. I own one from the early 2000s and it's been an incredible guitar for me over the years on stage and in the studio. The set necks are very well done on these and play and sustain almost as good as a true neck thru , for the money these guitars can't be beat. Mine easily sounds and outplays some guitars I've played in the 2k price range. Great axe for any rock or metal player

  • I say if you're going for the best budget friendly guitar in this category go for the schecter demon active schecter pick ups for around 549$. It's a bolt on neck but bolt on neck never gave me any problems.

  • Picked mine up for $250 used in excellent condition at guitar center ???? got my receipt first and then asked them why it was only $250 and the guy looked it up and said oh, it shouldn't have been that cheap ????

  • Its not gonna be a telecaster as it is basically a metal machine. but it is what it is. it does it well.

  • i disagree on the statement of it not being a versatile guitar, the pickups are perfect especially with a sustainiac. i have 2 c-1's and theyre both amazing. i use my hellraiser c-1 fr for drop c metal. but my other one is a platinum c-1 fr/s and i use it for every type of music, from pop to country and obviously rock and metal. the pickups are just extremely clean and filter out useless sounds that muddy up the sound. i even use it with my amp on acoustic and its beautiful.

  • You are playing rock or hard rock style. Imao.. at a certain point I could hear your style come through and it's blues rock. I agree with Justin johnson comment. A fender tele or a single strat would take take your sound to better places.

  • Just bought one in the weekend but mine doesnt have the floyd rose, it really is a great guitar! Love it. Might get the floyd installed on it sometime

  • I love my Schecter Hellraiser. Got the Floyd Rose, sustainiac, electronic pickup. It's definitely a specialty instrument for metal. Beautiful guitar.

  • What amp would you recommend for that guitar I’ve been saving up for my very first guitar and decided on the c-1 and want to know what amp could pair well with it ?

  • Why is this NOT versatile according to you? Did Fender pay you to talk shit about schecter? Does Fender have humbuckers?? If not, why are you comparing apple (humbuckers) to oranges(single coil)?

  • I'm trying to figure out why that guitar has a different binding and inlays than those on Schecter's site and online music stores. The binding on the one in the video is a solid cream while most of the Hellraisers I have seen have abalone inlays and bindings.

  • Is it safe to buy this Guitar online since I can't see how straight the frets are leveled etc? I'm confused. A lot of money for my budget.

  • Is the neck and the fretboard similar to a Jackson (Kelly) guitar? I found a used Hellraiser and I'm thinking of buying it… Of course i will try it before buying it, but i just want some opinions.

  • Hey! So I’m planning on buying my first electric guitar (but not first guitar overall), and I’ve been eyeing this one for a while. Question is; I like mostly metal (pretty diverse genres) and heavy/grunge/classic rock. It shouldn’t be a problem for the most part, but is it good for classic rock? Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Scorpions, that sort of stuff?

  • I want to buy a guitar specifically for metal and more heavy stuff in general. I started looking at the RG model from Ibanez and I ended up here. My question is: This guitar comes in 3 different prices, around 1.200-1.300 with the Floyd-Rose and Sustainiac pickups, around 950 without the FR and with EMG pickups and around 1.100 with just the Floyd-Rose and EMG pickups. Which one do you suggest? I dont really crave the FR but im worried the Sustainiac pickups are superior.

  • It’s called a Hellraiser. Someone in marketing would need to be fired immediately if not.

  • Great video and great playing. Was looking for more info on this guitar when I came across your video. I went from wanting one to being undecided after watching the video. What amp were you playing through? I didn't see that mentioned. Thanks much!

  • I have the cheaper version without the Floyd Rose. I bought because # 1 Its a beautiful guitar. The abalone binding is gorgeous and #2 Solid construction. I'm not crazy about the neck. I have little shorty stubby fingers that aren't made for music like yours are. Oh well. This guitar is built like a tank and ready for battle. I don't play heavy metal all that much. Your bends at 4:50 were cool. Although metal is impressive to other guitarists its catchy tunes and great songs that sell records. Me I just like to play. Great video. Lots of talent.
