  • With this I can be a virtuoso on the guitar instantly. I’ve learned the guitar at a younger age but I don’t play anymore. I still know how to play but for me, it’s easier to compose music on a piano. A matter of taste imo. Also, I’m not good enough at playing the guitar so it can be difficult to be creative with it and play what I have in mind. Virtual guitars allows me to produce metal music so I’m all in.

  • Yeah I’ll just buy another guitar BUT, this is a fucking awesome product for anyone who isn’t a guitarist primarily. I’m sure sick drummers would be stoked on this!

  • Makes you wonder how many “prog” bands use this, and how many of their fans believe they are using real guitar….

  • I’m old and only just trying to learn more of the digital world of music instead of just plugging into my amp. It’s honestly rather hard and takes me forever to do anything as it’s all totally new and makes my brain hurt????????. I tip my hat to all of you who have all this stuff down .

  • The last thing I want to do is program guitar. One of the worst parts of the writing process is having to tab everything out in Guitar Pro. You absolutely should do that since you'll inevitably forget how to play your own songs eventually. And then once you do that, as a guitar player, there's no real need for this. It doesn't make sense to me to program guitar in the DAW, I'd rather just use Guitar Pro and only have to do it once. XD

  • "Mistakes" can be very inspiring and making a song alive. It can also be a kind of spontaneous creativity that shows you different options for new ideas, new sounds and new rhythms. That's why I change my guitars (different tunings) to get new ideas.

  • For the amount of time it takes to program the "human element"… Just play it? Maybe I'm missing something.

  • Awesome Premier Guitar rig rundown. Very happy for that and very cool interview. Elijah has Grunts for lead guitar and rhythm guitar. No one will jump on that stage twice.

  • Until you get into custom built guitars and actually feel the resonance that comes from a solid high quality wood top/body/neck/fretboard. That to me is where the inspiration comes. That and the ergonomic feel that fits you style of playing. I will say that I do have fun with midi instruments for effects purposes.

  • I love using Odin to realize and hear my songs before I record them myself. Very fun and handy.

  • As a synth junkie that loves both hardware and software synths, nothing will fry your brain quicker than programming midi. 😀

  • You'll always be Ray to us man. SMR forever! The X gimmick isn't my personal favorite. Remember, someday you'll be pushing 60 like me. Try'n imagine yourself then? Stay Ray, is your new slogan. Metal is optional.

  • MIDI instruments are cool for getting down ideas, but I for one enjoy playing guitar. I get new guitars because I want to play them, not necessarily just for a produced song. No hate, but I don't understand telling guitar players to stop buying guitars. Love your content ❤
