  • FYI. dBA must be measured at 1 meter distance with nothing (like a wall) next to / around it to be valid and comparable.

  • I'm testing out a friend's Spark40 before I potentially buy, and have a quick question: I have a fender frontman 25R amp that seems to be SIGNIFICANTLY louder than the Spark40. Do you know why the spark is so much quieter despite the higher wattage?

  • The acoustic setting is not very loud….we all know the distortion settings are loud. The idiots at Positive grid screwed up when they made it impossible to hook up a PA or external speaker in an acceptable way….I can add the external jack but not having a line out or XLR is stupid. Especially since the connect their new cabinet via the headphone jack….everyone is complaining about the noise with the headphone jack. Just used it tonight…..so noisey! I'll never buy any more PG stuff.

  • Not sure why you're getting 98dB on the Spark. I've measured mine from around 5ft away with a decibel meter and it went well over 100dB.

  • Just for reference, a PA speaker is 99db at 1m distance for 1 watt of input.
To say the spark 40 is underdelivering is an understatement

  • As a bass player, Spark go was a disappointment. It's not even good for practicing over a song on bluetooth. Only with headphones. The main reason for buy it it´s the main con!

  • I have the 40 and the GO The spark is the absolute worst sounding Amps I’ve ever heard. Convenience over tone. My Boss Katana sounds 10,000 times better. Then my ‘76 100W Marshall only gets played when I want to piss off my neighbors

  • +10 db = twice as loud

that is most important thing everybody should know to have some idea how it works 🙂

    …. sooo if I have
    10 db = 15$
    20 db = 30$

    30 db = 60$

    40 db = 120$

    50 db = 240$

    60 db = 480$

    70 db = 960$

    80 db = 1920$

    90 db = 3840$

    100 db = 7680$

It's getting crazy very fast if you are in loud DBs

  • I have the Big Spark (40)…I bought it from new. It's not very loud….my Marshall MG10 is much much louder. I can't work out if its faulty. The Spark was a massive dissapointment.

  • Crazy how you can hear the clicks from the pick hutting the strings over the amps even though the 40 is putting out so much volume

  • Hello… I'm on the fence between the 40 and the mini… the price difference between those 2 is minnimal so I feel like I'd be wasting money if I buy the mini instead of the 40. What do you think of that? I seen other videos basically saying that people prefer the mini so I'm confused! Thanks for your thoughts.

  • Spark 40 is 40w, Spark mini is 10w, Spark Go is 5w measured Lebels are 98 dB, 86 dB, 78 dB. difference are 12 dB = 4 times, 8dB = 2 times. so this measurement is correct.

  • You've had the Talantcell battery last 12 hours? I've run mine for awhile, but I figured it wouldn't last for more than 5 or 6.

  • How long did you have these bad boys?
I heard that the durability of these are terrible. I ask because I'm getting the Spark 40 next week. Thanks.
