  • I own a AXE FX III, Prime and the 15 . Used to own a Helix LT.
Bought Prime this year -years after the FX and it's a great piece.
Master your gear, don't focus on what they don't do.

  • You're getting some great sounds out of that. The synths and hybrid are really inspiring. Latency happens with most pitch effects (Lexicon PCM, Eventide, etc are the exceptions) depending on signal chain and all the adjustable parameters. Learning how sparse to play is also helpful. A full bore 6-string barre chord is not the way to use these effects to their fullest MUSICAL potential (as you demonstrated). Now I have to update my Core.

  • Modellers are great devices but dont get bogged down with all those micro menu screens , make music ! dont throw all your time into making daft tones , i use a preset i made for all my other tracks and just make minor adjustments to the foundation scene i created. they can really distract you from making music. it has got a bit daft so many amps so many delays reverbs etc and now we got all those IRs to boot. but i love my gigboard its very effective.

  • I want to be able to use my laptop to control the Prime! And I want to be able to charge you all for my amp capture! The amp! Goto my channel & listen to the video "Test This"! That's the amp I kloned! Then tell me amps don't matter! ????

  • Headrush let MX5 users down again. So many things they could give to us, but no…. Only for Core and Prime. Lame.

  • Doc, I agree with your logic. Because there comes a point in the number of amps offered to where it is truly overkill. The human ear cannot interpret the distinction between 300 different amp sounds, then you couple the EQ, OD, and Mod effects. The reality is your genre will lead you to settle on a handful of sounds that you will work throughout the set.
Players – don't get caught up in the number of amps game. It is purely just marketing content only. Truth is, no audience wants to hear a guitarist sound like it's flying in outer space for a two hour performance. We have to have tones that are pleasing to the ear and not the science so the people listening will enjoy the music performed.

  • I don't understand why everyone makes a big deal about the PC editor. I have a MX-5 and I find the touchscreen to be simple to use.

  • Thumbs up Doc. Blessings to you for thoroughly and with great detail explanation on the different modelers out there.

  • headrush lets themselves slip to line 6 in regards that they dont reply to customers or have anywhere near the customer service that line 6 does, like out of all customer service i have never heard of anyone as good as line 6, they update more than tesla does, its crazy, headrush needs to step up the game, i mean if i got a prime, i would know that i might get 1 tenth of the updates line 6 would do….

  • 31:51 Regarding adding more amps to the Prime/Core… It will clone any amp a person wants. Most amps are available in the cloud. You can literally have anything you want. I agree, some quality of life improvements should be the focus of the next update. Great demo of the new features (as always)

  • Great video. Sorry, it was night time during your live stream. So here is my question. Is it possible to send your vocals to the mixer and your guitar to a real amp and to a mixer at the same time? Thanks a lot!!!

  • When you look at overdrive schematics, they're almost all the same: some amplification, some clipping circuit (usually two diodes) and some eq. Then there's the place where the clipping stage is (soft/hard clipping) and the type of eq. So, I guess that overdrive models are more like references than anything else. You can achieve the same tone with other pedal, but people who know that specific pedal will feel like home using the model.
IMO Headrush follows this line of thinking, they want the model to follow the original equipment, even if adding a parameter would make it better.
I'd rather having an output level in every model, but whatever,I should buy what fulfill my needs instead of hoping for the manufacturer to change their philosophy.

I'm a suspect talking about this, I really can't tell the difference between the amps and etc. All that I hear is crunch and eq. I can't tell compression unless it's obvious. But I'd enjoy output level in every block.
