2010s Yamaha BB235 5-string in Vintage White ~ “The Sheriff”

This was the 3rd bass I bought, and I liked it from the very beginning and still now, even more 🙂 It’s been upgraded with a Hipshot bridge, star-design knobs, black pickguard screws, heavy duty strap buttons and a strap. The original ceramic pickups were swapped out for an alnico set from a BB435 that I picked up from ebay 😉 It sounded great with the originals, and it sounds great now. It’s different, not necessarily better. Either way, I like both.

All recordings are improvised impromptu one-takes. There’s no remixing or mastering. It goes straight from the bass, thru the Fender Mustang Micro amp, into the Samsung S22+ camera app, and uploaded directly onto YouTube with some video effects created on VSDC Video Editor Pro. It’s about as live and raw as it gets.

Most of the recordings are on the “90s American” amp setting with the tone and effects at detente. Sometimes, I’ll cycle thru the other amps or put on the Flanger+Reverb effect occasionally for that cyber vibe.

Concepts and titles were added during editing. I play these videos from the “Singles” playlist as background music, usually with the volume at mid to mid-high ~ sounds come alive with the volume up 🙂 Thanks for watching and listening!!
