my friend, i have the wiim amp paired with elac db 6.3 and i find that de speakers have plenty bass for me, but the wiim amp over 30% of volume is messing around with everything. initially i thought that i need tu buy a subwoofer to take the load from de wiimp, but still, i think i need to change the amp. because i have limited resources i want an amp to be good with full stereo sound and occasionally a movie, i really need your help and guidance. do i really need to buy a sub now and go with a another amp later or switch the amp for a better one and adding the sub later…? i was looking at Yamaha R-N600A, Denon AVR-X1700H, audiolab 6000a . a big thank you for you and the commenters
Thanks Tarun. Always a fun ride. I personally cant see expensive speakers light in the bass to where you need a sub Spendor 4.5 are also sealed box with no bass. As for wishes. I wish my great sounding Cabass Muranos had turned out to be more reliable. More great sound from the Fritz Carbons I tried were amazing but not enough squeeze in the warmth department. Just personal taste I suppose. I like warm vs neutral presentation. I went back to my Proacs and brass sounded like brass and the fullness of tone was on call. Love those Proacs.
REL definitely needs to go back to the understated look. Great end of year video!
Thank you, bro, & Happy New Year! That was a great list. As for my suggestion for 2025, I wonder if you would be interested in reviewing the new SVS ultra evolution 6.5 inch bookshelf, speaker? They are priced at $1200 a pair here in the USA. They also have a 5 1/4 inch offering called the “nano” which are $900 a pair. Cheers!
is there a way to message or email you @abritishaudiophile7314 ?
I like the way you appreciate that 'organic warmth' can coexist with 'excellent detail' – I couldn't have said it better myself (US telefunkin foo here). Great channel – thx.
I'd definitely recommend the acoustic energy AE1 active speakers if you want a combined speaker amp combo for 1000 pounds or that is your budget for an amp and speakers. I've listened to some very expensive setups and these still hold their own. The timing and clarity are really impressive for the price. Very musical and intimate sound. Feels like the bands in the room with you. Wouldn't quite be fooled. Don't have the richness of the real thing but at this price closer than you might expect.
At 2400 US a pair please try to review the Dali Oberon 9. Would love your opinion on these monsters. Could be a real bang for your buck high quality option. Rock on in 2025!
My pick of the best audio review channels on utube from a comprehensive list on utube. You’re one of my favorites. Thank you and have a great New Year.
Wanted to look up the "outer Audio Lessers" as spelled in the closed captioning, but cannot find on the Internet. Is that the correct name?
Tarun, This year I bought the JBL 4309s and the Quad Revela 1s on your recommendation BUT….. BUT… I have now bought and you need to review the ATC smc 19s. I know you are doing a review of the smc 20’s soon but the 19’s provide superb value for money at their circa £2500 price. Fantastic.
Just wanted to wish you and the family a Very Happy New Year's and thank you for another great year enjoying your channel. I appreciate all the unbiased intel you share as the hard work you put into researching and putting it out for us.
Wishing you all the Very Best!
Cheers. ????????????????????????☮️♥️
Long time Exposure fan. Started with the Exposure Super XV and then moved on to the 2510 based on your review. Very happy with it. Paired with KEF LS50 (anniversary) + REL sub. I know you've enjoyed the LS50s in the past. Any thoughts on comparison to the Quad Revela 1 with the exposure 2510?
As always excellent work for this video and 2024. As for speakers or equipment that you review, do you have access to any of the AVID HIFI products? Maybe a review on something from the EVO line of speakers, maybe an integrated amplifier. I happen to have seen some videos of Integra Integrated amp, and of the EVO 4 speakers. Wonder what your experience would be. Anyway, hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Wish you a Happy New Year too!
Would love to see you review The DynAudio Contour 20i! ????
I've just subscribed New York. Excellent channel! Have you reviewed B&W 606s S3's?
I own the Alyssa’s, some of the best Ive ever heard, Mike the owner of Alta Audio is such a great guy and passionate about music
Hi Tarun. What’s the best way to reach you direct…e-mail ID ?
Thanks for another year of great reviews . Merry Christmas.????????
The Alta speaker looks like Darth Vader's helmet…
A review of the Bowers and Wilkins 805D4 would be most welcomed.
Tarun, you keep raising the bar. Thank you.
Still regret not seeing the ls50 on this channel. Would be great to see how it stacks up. But there has been some fascinating stuff on this year, thanks for taking the trouble and happy holidays, Tarun!
Happy holidays!
Have a great Xmas Tarun , you also recommended elac ubr62 which is not a bad sounding speaker , only got these at it price if only £499, but perhaps in the future replace them silver 100 7g . Regards mark
Some fabulous and interesting speakers coming to light in your 2024 summary Tarun. Look forward to what 2025 brings on your channel. Happy Christmas and a Great Sounding New Year ???? ????
You really like the REL. What about trying the less bling BK Electronics equivalent? You may find bang for buck there.
Strangely pivotal year in standmounts IMO. Old leaders finally being surpassed. The Revela are on my test list, the Alyssa's if I get a dedicated room. I hope you can test the Radiant Acoustics Clarity 6.2 soon! Cheers and Merry Christmas / Cool Yule / HNY!
I always look forward to your reviews. Concise, informative and just the right length. For next year, how about getting your hands on Epos Es7N. They are offering inbuilt flexibility and seem to be tailored more to your average size GB rooms.
Спасибо. Ничего не понял, но было очень интересно. ????
I find it interesting that all the speakers reviewed were from normal commercial houses, with no representation of internet only well regarded lines such as Buchart etc
Hi Sir ????
Currently running Jamo c97,SVS SB1000 pro with Yamaha RN602 … Need your suggestion for first upgrade ( either speaker or amplifier) for elevating my experience in audiophile sound grade. Suggestion of brand with model would be highly appreciated.
I am so past the hype that small micro cabinet speakers with 5"-6.5" woofers on stands can fool accurate bass reproduction while cheating physics.
This talk about bass from near field sized speakers on stands is a delusion regardless of price.. without being active within small room boundaries as reinforcements.
I had Yamaha NS 10 for that.
I will admit, i have been pleasantly surprised by what Dynamic Technology has done with it's Active mini towers. Bp 9020 at 3.5' tall with an 8" woofer.
Subwoofers can introduce it's own set of problems.
I've been there with a pair of B&W 802/3 Matrix. Each had twin 8" woofers. While on stands 3' from rear wall. (I did not have the optional bass eq.) Instead, I went for their Matrix sub.
I eventually sold the 802M + sub and cozy up to KEF 105/3 with two internal 8" acoustic woofers front ported with their electronic KEFKUBE.
Now that's BASS.
*My endgame speaker system: Wilson Audio Sasha. Full Stop.
All the speakers here are interesting. I would love to see you review some Piega, speakers and more small French manufacturers like Apertura and Jean Marie Reynaud. Linn Kajik 119. Pylon (Polish manufacturer). Atalante (also Polish).
Happy New Year
So unfortunate that I couldn't get from you the comparison between Elac Debut Connex DCB41 and M20
As usual amazing review with continual improvement. Liked the Ganesha idol in the room.
Please let me know, would Q Acoustics M20 active speaker be great choice for soulful, non tiring clear sound for that price range. Getting it at around 490 $ US in India. Should I go for it?
The Typhon is actually $5500, then plus 20% VAT to import them into the UK… Given you love the Revela 1, surprised you didn't review it’s bigger brother, the Revela 2. It is easily up with the very best speakers I have ever heard below £5000, if not higher – the only downside is it can be tricky to set-up to sound at its best. I have the Revela 2 as part of my second system – they were in my main one but I swapped them for Russell K Red 150SE, nearly £9000 and not a huge improvement on the Revela 2, especially given the price difference, and the Quads are far nicer to look at. I only swapped them as I use NAD M66 and dual M23s, and NAD doesn't recommend using speakers that drop below 5 ohms with the M23s in bridged mode. Now if only Quad had launched their Platina series, I would have bought that! And I still might if it is ever launched, it was announced nearly two years ago now. Tried the 33/303 but underpowered, even bridged, ugly as hell and, although, paradoxically, it is very well made, it still manages to look cheap! Seasons greetings and wishing you a wonderful 2025.
Great video Tarun, as usual. Some semi or fully open baffle speaker review would be my wish from 2025. ie Qualio IQ maybe? Merry Christmas and happy new year????
Thanks for the consistently high quality videos Tarun. Out of these, the Quad’s seem to have the best sound, build and price balance. I heard some compact EJ Jordan Greenwhich speakers with Da Ming monoblock amps recently that were astonishing. Pricey but I reckon they’d do well in your over £5k band. Hope to see more excellent content in 2025????????????
Great comparisons and purchasing guide. Thanks for sharing.
Hi could you please review cabasse morano bookshelf speakers they we're on sale for half price so I bought a pair for $2,200
Thank you Tarun. Another great year of reviews. Just to wish you and your family a merry Christmas and have a fantastic 2025.
I still go back and watch some of your old videos on cheap hacks to upgrade your system. I always wanted to start making diy speaker u tube videos but I have a physical demanding job that I don't have the energy to start. But I commend you on your channel and wish you much success in the future!
Have enjoyed your reviews. Definitely one of the best out there. Based on these I've finally taken the plunge and gone for the acoustic energy AE1 active speakers which I think were your speaker of the year in 2022. I currently have Adam audio studio monitors which are resolving and clear but a bit bright/fatiguing and maybe not quite musical enough and tried q acoustics M20 (another one of your award winners) which are tuneful and fairly detailed but a bit too warm sounding, slightly boxy sound and ultimately lacking the clarity of the Adams. I always feel like I'm missing something despite making the toes tap. At 3x the price AE1 active should be a good upgrade. Your review was incredibly positive. DAC is Cambridge audio 200m. Tidal hi-fi. What would you say these AE1 active speakers are equivalent to in terms of separate amps with speakers?
Have you tried the Bronze 100 from Monitor Audio? Several reviewers have said that in terms of sq they are almost indistinguishable (vs the silvers).
I love watching your reviews and awards videos . I enjoy seeing such incredible equipment most I can’t afford , but sometimes you bring in things I can reach . One of my favorites is the REL subwoofers . I have bought 2 classic 99 and 2 T9x subs for some systems that I have . The RELs offer so much for so little . Much thanks ❤????????
