AC/DC Sound – Tips for amp settings to get that sound
How to get that AC/DC “clean distortion” sound (the Malcolm rhythm style). Using my Peavey Bravo tube amp and my Peavey T-60 guitar. I also have a Marshall Plexi, but you can get the sound with other amps, as I do here with the Bravo.

This proves that you don't need a Marshall Plexi/JTM 45 and a proper SG to sound like them 😉
Love that natural finish maple fretboard peavy…
3rd chord is Cadd9 not G.

Did you upgrade the speaker in that Bravo 112 ? I have one and thinking of doing just that.
My gosh that sound is amazing.!
You are correct – you'll note in my video description that I also have a Marshall 1087X Plexi reissue. That amp, with my Gibson SG pretty much nails the AC/DC sound. The sound of screaming EL34 tubes is like nothing else.
to get the different tones of acdc, the best amps to get are the orange OR50 or AD30 amps, any JTM style marshall, preferably from the 70's, or a cornford roadhouse 30/50
No problem in the slightest, enjoy sounding like the Gods of Guitar!
It's just the clean channel with the master volume cranked as loud as it gets m/
To get the ACÏŸDC sound, you play through the Clean channel with the volume cranked, then you have to use complete control over your picking hand. The way you attack the strings makes a BIG difference. Also: If you drench it in gain/distortion it doesn't sound like ACÏŸDC at all, it just sounds like a growling demon trying to take a shit.
And, no ballads? Obviously you've never heard "Ride On".
You sir, are a dumbass
You people are idiots. Tube amps naturally overdrive when you get the volume up there, but it isn't very noticeable without a little help. On the clean channel of your tube amp with the volume cranked up and the gain fairly low, strumming normally will give you a pretty clean sound, but if you "attack" the strings like he says, you get the legendary Angus Young sound. DAT TONE.
Thanks! Does anybody knows does it works on THR-5 yamaha amp?
nice
You are correct – their sound is overdrive more than heavy distortion. Heavy distortion is more fuzzy like Metallica or ZZ Top. With my Marshall Plexi amp its easy, because it is all overdrive. In a combo amp like the Peavey in the video, my pre-gain is on "2 to 3"
Everyone's commenting about the "Very little distortion". If you want a good ACDC sound, turn the Gain down to about 4-5 and turn the volume way up. Not a lot of distortion is used but when you turn up the volume it sounds good.
marshall plexi thd hot plate and early humbuckers like 57 in a sg and your angus if you have the talent i never be that good it natural for him
@SuperFredSa His brother Malcolm is the rhythm guitarist…low output pickup and semi hollow guitar.
i think night prowler was one of the songs with quite a bit of drive to it
very little distortion ???? hahaha lol
angus doesn't pick hard, he really brushes the strings
