In my 30 years of playing and 20+ years of teaching I’ve encountered so many ways to raise technical, aural, and visual proficiency. But there is one aspect of guitar playing that I’ve found that most aspiring guitarists miss which is why they often end up stuck in an intermediate rut. An aspect of musicality that can permeate any technique we can think of.

And that is expression.

In this epic 1 hour masterclass you’ll learn how to take your technical, aural and visual skills to expert levels by applying the process I used to reach new levels of mastery within my playing.

Grab a pen, paper, and you axe and let the shed commence!

  • Just wanna say your song “I just wish” is one of my favorite guitar ballads. You’re very underrated guitar prog metal guitarist and definitely deserve more.

  • I haven't told you yet, but my guitar journey all started one day riding with my father in his El Camino, listening to music. I asked "What is this…" and he ejected out the cassette tape, put it in the case, gave it to me and said, "Check this guy out! Joe Satriani – Surfing with the Alien." – True Story

  • Can you make a novice class video for musically stunted ppl like me? When i play the same notes, it doesn't sound like music. It sounds like I'm playing random notes really fast. I have been struggling with that for almost 3 decades.

  • 42:07 this is why you should never use sounds to represent the 7 notes of a scale. We have a good way that existed for thousands of years. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. If we go ONE to FOUR… simple, easy, no language barrier… Indians have their own sounds and both are just an impediment to discussing intervals, imo.

  • I wish I could go good by myself, but I feel like I need more to be able to advance and I can’t learn by myself anymore.
