“All Funk Blues” – Academy Play-along /// Scott’s Bass Lessons
► Download the FREE workbook with TAB/Notation here: http://bit.ly/2vUn0aX
Inside the Academy here at ScottsBassLessons we’ve got a growing play-along library which features songs ranging from funk, country and rock, right through to reggae and fusion…
Each play-along track comes with a “bass-less” MP3, a lead sheet, and a video reference guide showing someone actually playing the song.
The play-along library is a crucial part of the Academy, as using play-alongs can be a fantastic way to make sure you’re actually learning songs (which is SUPER important) – not just running scales and arpeggios up and down the neck all day!
So, this week I thought it’d be fun to share one of our Academy play-alongs with you… for free.
You get the “bass-less” MP3, the lead sheet, plus I’ve recorded a video of myself performing the track for you so you can get an idea of how to open up on a song such as this.
It’s based on the must know song “All Blues” by Miles Davis… and we’ve added some serious funk vibes in there for you too!
As always, see you in the shed…
Scott 🙂

Just brilliant, not a single note out of place.
You got John McLaughlin with you there or what?
Alan Parsons would turn in his grave.
sounds like horrible production freebee shit:
Best video I've ever seen you do Scott – great playing and gives some good ideas that can be used in the real playing situations
Love it Scott!
There are many factors in jam backing tracks. One plan I found which succeeds in merging these is the Makale jam plan (check it out on google) definately the most helpful info i've seen. look at this incredible site.
Serious Crusaders vibe going on here.
Scott, you are one of THE best educators on the web!! Also, your playing and feel are just spot on!!
what a nice groove…!
Hey Scott love what your doing but I think you should shorten up your lessons a bit. Like in this video
???? musica … preciosa musica
Haha funky miles davis ey.. 🙂 Cool Ron Carter line
Lots of fun Sir. Three times through now and I think I might just be slightly funkier for the effort. And I am not referring to the odor coming from my old track shoes either.
all blues got a minor cord tho
@Scott's Bass Lessons Hi Scott, i'm amateur and i saw your video for position and hand posture. when i sit on a chair with 90 degree knee angle the weight of bass still is on my shoulder is it wrong? and when i fix my thumb back of the neck i have to extremely bend my wrist to reach E and A strings, i saw your videos a lot but i couldn't do it.what's the problem?
I can taste some Michael League influence in there, or is it Scott who influenced Michael..? 🙂
scott have you ever tryed using talc powder on your fingers stops finger problems for sweat and keeps your strings cleaner it works for some people cool playing by the way
Very nice groove!!
Steely Dan vibe. Hmm do I need a badass bridge for my bass?
nice playing Scott
Genial Scott!!
i love your facial expressions when you play. i do the same thing.
wow. pretty standard funk. people watch the rocco stuff. you will learn more in 30 seconds of watching that guy play.
Super cool!
I hope everybody gets the title 🙂
Yes, Great! Thanks! ✌✌✌
That opening turnaround…those chords….ahhhhh
Cool groove, and cool lesson with sheet and backing track…more of these, please 😀
