  • Yeah I have this AP70 and I love it! Picked it up used for $200 and had new tuners and a set up. Awesome little box! Love Alvarez guitars! Nice playing man! Thanks!

  • Considering getting this or the AP66SHB mahogany top, which sounded amazing at GC!
Now I'm wondering about the MP70?
Hoping to play these as soon as I can find them.
Nice Jerry Jeff Walker cover! But to review a guitar,
play it with and without a capo to get the full 12 th fret
    effect.

  • Hello.I bought a used ap70sp and the D string sounds dead on the 12th fret harmonic…Any possible reasons you might know of for this?

  • Hi! Great review! Thanks for it! I was thinking on buying an AD60, but I could have problems for travelling with it…. do u think there's such a difference on the sound between ad60 and ap70? Much louder ad60? thanks!

  • Nice looking archtops!  I've got a few Martins, but I have an Alvarez ap66esb on the way…just because I wanted a parlor guitar with a mahogany top.  I love the retro look on those.

  • Excellent guitar and sound. I had a Alvarez Yari back in 1975. Best sounding acoustic I ever had. Looking at buying one of these for blues fingerpicking.  With the solid A+ Sitka spruce I love the bright tone and the rosewood back and sides give a very good balance.  Your song is awesome.  Brings back old memories. Thanks for posting.

  • To my ears it has a bit of that cheap cigar box type of tone (and I don't necessarily mean that in a negative way – it just ain't no baby Collings ;^), but I'm very impressed with the projection I'm hearing.  Tempting.  Thank YOU.

  • There's no mention of laminate on the Alvarez website spec sheet for this guitar. I think it's solid rosewood back & sides
