Amp MODELERS vs PROFILERS – The Basics ????????
#guitartone #guitarplayer #guitar
OVERVIEW
Hey there guitar friends!!! In this video, I discuss some digital amp modeling basics. It’s important to understand the core technology behind profiling or capturing devices like the Kemper Profiler or NeuralDSP Quad Cortex and modelers like the Fractal Audio or Line6 devices. There’s a lot of debate out there about which one is better. But often you’ll find that it’s not about one thing being better than the other. It’s about appreciating the differences between technologies and understanding how they apply to you.

I only now see this video. Can you say that profiler is sort of guitar amp sound sampler, while the modeler emulates the features which you can adjust yourself like in real amp ?
I love my Line 6 POD Go. It sounds great (uses the Helix engine for sounds), is less than $500, and is very easy to use. I go back and forth between the POD Go and my Strymon Iridium depending on the tone I'm looking for, and usually end up using the POD Go a bit more. I'm not ready to sell my Iridium, though. I like it when I'm looking for something a bit more "raw" sounding. I'd stick to "Modellers" rather than "profilers".
