  • Excellent. I'm a bassist so I don't really need this plugin, but I could actually use it. I do like the built amp sims.
It would be nice to know what kind of cab sim (IR) they used for the the amps.

  • I gotta be completely honest, and perhaps a little harsh, but I simply lost all interest in the Ample Sound products lately.

I was excited at first to see the company update their old libraries, but the updates themselves only solve the problems with workflow, not the fundamental flaws of these libraries, like the artificial, sterilized sound of the samples that is almost impossible to make sound at least a bit convincing (the worst case is probably with the electrics, maybe with the exception of their telecaster or hollowbody), or that they're not very versatile when it comes to different musical styles.

Anything that Ample Sound is trying to achieve now, I see many other companies do with way better results, and not even more popular companies like Impact Soundworks or Musiclab, but even older, lesser known products that aren't supported today, can still be much better in many ways, than what Ample Sound produces, like Ilya Efimov guitars.

I probably should be more specific with what I find so disappointing about Ample Sound products, but I'd have to spend an hour writing everything down, but I want to start a discussion, because I want to see whether I'm the only one who feels the same about these products.

And just to be fair, my problem lies within mostly the acoustic and electric guitars by this company, their basses are very good and easy to use and this update is actually a very smart decision, and I honestly hope that when the electric guitars gets updated, they will get amp and cab simulators that will make them easier to work with in terms of designing more convincing sound.

Now enough with the negativity; another good video, I'm wondering whether we'll be able to agree on some things mentioned above, and even if not, I hope you're enjoying the rest of your day Mike.

  • I have Ample Metal Eclipse but I haven't been using it because I am waiting for the 3 update. It is great that they have added their own amps because before you had to run it through a third party amp sim. I agree that this is the most important part of the update. I also have Ample Guitar Martin the acoustic guitar. I definitely have to pick up the bass. Its on my music software shopping list.
