  • Started to write the track with Slipknot in mind then it turned kind of Mastodon-y? I dunno, playing Orange amps just kinds of leads you to new places lol

  • Well, the rockerverb is thicker and intense. It costs what it costs to get that full tone.
Now, I would like to hear the supercrush with a boost pedal in and a tube preamp pedal placed at various locations in the signal path. In, loop, and speaker out to the speaker. It would be cool to see if you can add an acceptable amount of saturation to the gain.

  • This amp is so bad ass a graphic equalizer through the fx loop can give wicked distortion tones with the right speakers

  • Just an eq in the effects loop, you're pretty much good to go. Depending on your pickups you possibly could need an overdrive.

  • Tell people what your doing ! Because that saturated tone is not coming from just being plugged straight into the amp ! I own this amp and you need to boost it if you want metal . It's just not my cup of tea . I'll take marshall or my engle over it . That's what's wrong with alot of these bigger youtube channels, they falsely advertise. Lots of pre and post processing that they won't tell you about ! Oh yeah the gain know on the amp is pretty much useless until after 12 o'clock.

  • I just picked up this head today (in black) for $185…. came for the review, stayed for the face melt rawk.

  • Orange really needs to step up their game by fixing the cabinet simulated output. They need to include a built-in IR loader for the headphone and XLR outputs.

  • I wish i couldn’t hear a big difference but it doesn't sound good to me. The price of the tube amps from orange are ridiculous

  • Excellent video. I like the Rockerverb, but I got a Super Crush. The money I saved will go towards a Marshall DSL100HR.

  • There is no discernible difference to me between these two amp heads.

It makes more sense to get the Supercrush, not only because I can’t tell a difference between them, but that’s what I can afford.

  • I have two issues with this amp. I don’t have the room to buy it because I have to old school vintage solid state heads????. Second reason is I know English and I don’t understand the pictures for words you know what I mean

  • More i listen to Orange amps, the more i like them. Have an Orange 35RT myself for bedroom use, neighbours are getting used to it. As to the comparison, if i was doing live stuff, i'd go Rockaverb all day long for the extra oomph, for recording i'd prefer the Super Crush just based on cost alone but also soundwise, there's not a lot of difference between the two

  • Its a really good amp, i have 14 amps, all tube but one, my orange 120 crush, it's a great amp, love it and sounds killer but it's not a tube amp. it's probably the only solid state amp that sounds really good and to my ears it sounds better than the super crush. The Super crush sounds good but i prefer the 120.

  • Great review. I have been thinking about buying the Orange Crush, You just sold it to me lol. Thank you

    Reply
  • Wait, can you explain why the head is better than the combo for an apartment? I also live in an apartment and figured the combo would be better?

    Reply
  • Every time someone brings one of these things (or the rockerverb) into the studio I prepare for a struggle. The subdued midrange character makes it very difficult to cut though the mix. The fizzy highs don't help either. Overrated amps IMO.

  • So now play it in the same tuning but in standard chords and all and they will sound more aggressive fyi! Us guitar players can tell by sound if your playing one finger or full hands chords!!! Great video by the way.

  • I have the Orange Crush Pro 120. Do you know how it differs from your amp? I'm wondering if I should sell it and get the Super Crush, but I'd like to what changes Orange made.

    Reply
  • They're close enough that I don't think I could justify buying the Rockerverb. I will accept one as gift though if anybody doesn't want theirs.

    Reply
  • How the fell are you getting that much gain out of this thing?

I just got mine and even with super high output pickups, there's simply nowhere near enough gain to chug like that. What am I missing?

    Reply
  • Great another amp I will buy and play with for a week and then never use. I do that a lot. I am annoying…

  • I'm just thinking of getting the black one just to amp up quickly for jamming and saving on my tube amps. They can be costly replacing tubes and stuff all the time. Yeah, I never got into wanting to fry myself not knowing about electronics internal components too much of killing myself on capacitors. I know enough to about not kill myself in them and that's it. But here in the USA at $130 just to open up a Marshall head is a bit costly. So maybe a solid state like this I could be happy with? Not sure. I use a small Bantamp Jackman II right now and its truly kicks ass for quick practice in comparison the my 100watt Marshall head. But I want louder when I play. I don't live in a city and I can jam as loud as I like or can stand it.

  • Pretty good playing , but you need to concentrate on clean guitar , in that arena is where you learn seriously. I got the Amp and the 2-12's speaker cabinet… but I can see that I truly am not going to be happy until I get a more expensive Orange tube amp …. for now I'm going to see if I can simulate a tube Amp with foot pedals.

  • Super crush for clean picking and running the delay/chorus effects. The Rocker verb for melting your face main amp

  • @agufish thanks to your review I purchased yet again another stellar addition to my set up, this amp is amazing I’ve been playing it for hours and I just got it today.Thank you for all the unbiased and real demos

  • I really dug your dirt channel sound on the Super Crush. What were your settings and did you use a boost?

    Reply
  • For those who want a super crush if u want a bit tighter tone definitely maje sure ur using closed back cabs. It's close enough to the rockerverb to my ears. Which is fine for me. I play more punk style than metal these days and it does 90s pop punk perfectly. I'm not a fan of chuggy stuff through bit Thom but in a mix it's sounds great.

  • Forget paying a house deposit on a tube amp, no maintenance, killer sound under a grand. I've still got a peavey studio pro 112 and sounds the same since 1995
