The new “URSA” headstocks are radically different from the originals. What do you think of the design?

Hi, I'm interested in purchasing SX SBH2 5 string bass.
Can you help me decide?
What's your opinion on that bass?
Thanks!
The new style looks exactly like the headstock on my Suzuki SB 10 P bass
Apparently, no one liked the second version. SX has brought out a third version now. My understanding is that Fender went after him.
Great value, much respect.
How much do you want out of this company? They make a bass that outperforms $400 squires and MIM fenders. Now the headstock isn't perfect? It's $200!
Max I have this same P- bass from SX and I'm ready to sell it.
I dont like the way it sounds it's only a year old.
Anyone want it it's yours for $200 with a hard shell case.
Looks like the new headstock is punished by not stringing it fully π
And on the subject, the new headstock refrains me from buying another SX bass. I already have two and am thinking of getting the Andromeda which not only has a cooler headstock but also looks like a very well made bass. With a couple of tweaks you can make a very close copy of a Sadowsky out of it.
the people who don't like it could always just reshape with with a few basic tools… since these basses are cheap they are known for being modded so I'm surprised I haven't seen a modded headstock yet
I prefer the vintage. I have an SX fretless with vintage headstock. Great bass except neck is wider than I would prefer.
I'm now more concerned about the rondo SX bass bodies becoming predominantly made of basswood than alder.
The headstock design of the Ursa 1, the new design that is, is growing on me. It does look a little clunky having a pointy ish headstock design on a rounded classic bass body, but the more I see them, the more I like them…
I like the new ones. It gives them their own flair and it reminds me of a shark fin.
Dude, the new headstock is cool…
Being a newbie to bass, it really doesn't matter to me. But I do have a question. I'm looking at buying one and just wondered if you think they are stifll a good way to go for a beginner? I'm an old retired guy but have always been intrigued with the bass guitar. Don't know why I haven't bought one, but with more time on my hands thought I would tip toe into it. These are so cheap, I figure if I lose interest no big deal.
So…….do you still recommend these for someone lie me? Thanks.
2 string bass lika boss!
looks more like an ESP/LTD headstock
I personally think the Fender-like headstock is big part of the jazz-bass mojo
I agree Earl not a fan of the new headstock the original looks much better
I just purchased a 2004 SX SJM62 just because of the old style head. The old style head is by far better looking. Too bad.
Might look better with FOUR strings.
I don't play much guitar. But yes the may be on the "thick" side.
I like the old head stock style. I have one with the URSA. Dont you think the Furrian necks are a little too fat?
Point taken.
They ain't gonna change it, so I choose to embrace it.
Jeez man, I shouldn't make that decision for you. But you should know, or noticed, that Squier's quality is getting better and better! The decision is yours, difficult i know!
Wow! Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the input, bro. And thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
I like the older head stock personally . I have an SX 5 string fretless the headstock on it looks almost like an ovation acoustic guitar. I'd much rather have that older look to it . I dig your sight homz much respect .
The SX's are inexpensive and well made enough. Enough where you could make improvements without spending a whole lot! Check out RONDO MUSIC online.
Thanks for the input.
