  • Is it the MG-300, or the MG-30?
They show you as a contributor to the MG-30, but not on the MG-300. They don't even have a MKII on their website. Maybe they need to update it.

  • The NUX MG-300 MKll is a pretty impressive little device. My first foray into modeling was a Digitech RP-100 and this unit stands head and shoulders above that little buzzy sounding box.

  • I heard they removed the Pitch Bender that's available on the previous model.. They did that on the MG101 also.. pitch bender was available on the MG100, its predecessor..

  • Perusing the Nux website I've found this is the only company that cites Fractal as paragon of sonic quality in the text description of their products.
I like this attitude of aiming high, lerning from the best in business ????

  • This seems like a solid little unit in that it is portable, small, and the right price. I could see it as part of a portable practice rig or as a full blown performing solution. And for how much it costs you could buy numerous units as backups.

The only thing I might want to add would be a second expression pedal (I like wahs, pitch/whammy, and volume controls separate just in case, or any two parameters you wish to control independently). Also not sure if this has a Digitech Whammy emulator, but it would be nice.

This reminds me a lot of the old Pod Farm Platinum DAW software from 2010 that I still use because I have better results with it. Some of the POD emulations sound a little bit flat compared to newer stuff but I can just get better results quickly with it in a mix.

Compare this to a flagship rack unit costing thousands (most features of which most players are not going to use), or even a small tube practice amp and it becomes difficult to justify getting anything else in the price range (that said, analysis paralysis–so many products now).

Some folks have also mentioned the Zoom 505 comparison and I am taken back to how popular that little unit was in its day.

And once again once stuff like this becomes used it will be an even better deal.

To be fair, I did hear a bit of break up around 9:08 with the cleans that sounds like it was close to clipping but I'm assuming that's part of the emulation.

Solid pick as usual, Mr. Leon. Cheers.

  • Still debating a PRS Vela, a thinline McCarty, a CE24…or the 90s Core McCarty is the local place still has it in a couple months…❤

  • Merry Christmas to you and yours, Leon. Your channel is one of only three that I really look forward to seeing week to week. Hope I can take a vacation to Australia with my wife in the next couple of years to see a good friend in Sydney–and time it so we could snag a Ragdoll concert!

  • Thank you so much for the great video! I have not seen this unit in the US. I have the first MG 300 and have been looking at the 1 oh1 because it’s battery powered but I may get one of these Mark twos as well.

  • Thank you Leon. You do justice to the gear you demo. Looked online, but it's currently not available. Happy Holidays!

  • Both NuX and Valeton need to convert the stereo Aux and Headphones out and re map those to work as a Stereo FX loop. Then all you have to do is plug in a Tone X One and you will have everything you need in a compact rig. They should also make the USB output capable of running in MIDI mode with pre programed MIDI I/O commands to make a Tone X One work with the Scenes.

  • I'd be tempted if it had MIDI control. Without it, it's just a toy, a very good sounding toy, but still a toy, like the Zoom 505 II I used to have.

  • Looks like a cool little unit. It's so new it's not even on the NUX website yet. Happy Holidays Leon!! We appreciate you! ????

  • How far we have come from the days of the Zoom 505. All this in a relatively inexpensive package with a software editor to boot. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at the march of technology, but I continually am.

  • I had the first one, few years ago now, just as a practice rig while I was renting a small unit (headphones in) and I was amazed by how good it was and how simple it was to use, reminded me of a zoom g1 but more functions.
