  • I put ratios on an Epiphone Casino. Half a turn = half a step, on all 6 strings. Not 100% exact, but close enough to make tuning SO much more predictable. Not cheap, but excellent bang for the buck…

You can still use a string winder for fast string changes too, & a Roadie tuner. Lots of companies are improving the durability of tuners.

  • Hello and happy new year! i have a question if you don't mind. Just got my new Schaller machine heads for my bass and i have the opposite problem with the new bushings. They are a bit smaller than the old ones. Do you think i should add some wood glue or electrical tape so to keep the new ones tight? does it matter if i just leave the old ones does it make any difference? thank you 😉

  • Also pro tip don't be afraid to ream the holes for the tuning machine bushings, take measurements to see what size you need to go too you want em snug but if you have cracks occur if that happens it will grow with humidity change. As being a tech I've done this a bunch of times. Awesome video.. some tuning machines are also direct swap meaning no new holes needed. For example my gb7 extender for my old spector q4 pro which had jin ho 150 sealed tuners (gotoh gb7 copy basically )

  • You spell it Fernandez but it clearly says Fernandes on the headstock? …Or is it such a knockoff it really doesn't matter?

  • Why are you using an electronic tuner? I thought that ratio tuner were meant to facilitate manual tuning.
