Becos FX Introduces the CompIQ Twain Pro Compressor MK2 Pedal – No Treble

Becos FX CompIQ Twain Pro Compressor MK2 Pedal

Becos FX has redesigned one of its compressor pedals to announce the CompIQ Twain Pro MK2. The dual-band/stacked compressor pedal is made for bass, guitar, and any other electric instruments.

The new edition of the circuit removes the saturation engines on the dry line, which the company says was intended to add controlled harmonic distortion on the original version. In its place, they added a multi-function switch for Feed-Forward/Feed-Back compression on each band or a combination of Feed-Forward for Lows and Feed-Back for highs.

“It also includes a variable Side-Chain Filter with cut or boost in the control signal for both bands, an updated input preamp with ±12dB boost or cut, and a signal peak level indicator for input and output,” Becos adds. “Additionally, we offer the optional DITOS transformer-balanced DI output to send the signal to a mixing desk, recording interface, or other processor down the line.”

Feed-Forward mode offers a fast and accurate compression while the new “old-school” Feed-Back compression has a smoother response for evening out dynamics. The two modes can be combined with Feed-Forward on the lows and Feed-Back on the highs.

“With the flip of a switch, the two independent engines can be stacked in series to slow down compression further, achieving a thick & gluing or fine smoothing, optical-like compression feel. This mode benefits from the variable Side-Chain Filters on both lows and highs,” the company explains.

The Becos FX CompIQ Twain Pro Compressor MK2 is hand-assembled in Vienna, Austria. It has a street price of approximately $344 or $388 to get the DITOS upgrade.
