  • Thank you for the wonderful and pragmatic demo. I thought some of the sound samples clearly showed the Bensonite bridge has a fuller, deeper tone and yet others were indistinguishable.

I have two Bensonite bridges on a Jazzmaster and on a Jaguar. The Fender '63 PU's on my Jazzmaster has a bridge PU that is WAY too shrilly for me. It is good for dialing in that surf sound, but once you do that, the neck pickup becomes pretty useless. Thus, I welcome the Bensonite's fuller sound to "help" tame (not fix) the shrill of the neck PU. Additionally I added some Sunday Handwound '58 pickups to find a better balanced sound output within the purity goals of the JM realm.

Maybe it is because of the Jaguar's shorter scale but the guitar definitely benefitted from the Bensonite bridge in terms of both sustain and note clarity. It is now my favorite guitar, something I thought completely absurd pre-Bensonite.

Maintaining the original rocking bridge design was one of the major reasons I went with the Bensonite bridge. The Mastery bridge converts the guitar to a fixed bridge which seems to go too far in abandoning Leo's original design. That's a personal take with no science behind it but I don't want to spend $300-$350 to find out if I am right or wrong. I am WAY MORE THAN HAPPY with my Bensonite bridges. Additoinally, the owner is still available to support the product. He responds very quickly to questions.

  • I hear clearly different sounds from these bridges. The more solid, brass Bensonite reduces fizzy, metallic upper mids, while emphasizing mids as we might expect from its more massive base. On an already very bright guitar like the JM or Jag, this is a plus. Also, the Bensonite more greatly emphasizes the fundamental of each note, another plus. My choice, based in this demo, is the Bensonite.

  • I noticed a brighter, and more metallic tone. I have one on my Jaguar and love it. I legitimately like the look of it way more than any of the other other bridges I’ve seen. I wish I could afford to get more for my other guitars.

  • Perhaps the Bensonite sounds ever so sliiiiightly "thicker." Both are terrific and very similar, which is not at all a bad thing. ????

  • It’s funny , I bought 2 staytrems because of your videos (sold one recently) and now I bought one of these because of you haha

  • Stock jazzmaster bridge is totally fine. There's no need to ever upgrade, even tho some of the 3rd party ones look pretty damn cool

  • As for the "hiccup" it would make more sense to me if the bridge was supposed to go the other way around, with the screws facing the neck. Why? Because the cutout behind the bridge saddle allows for a greater break angle as the strings wouldn't hit the screws side, you could get the intonation closer as the bridge saddles could move further back, and also it would make more sense if the U shapes were for thicker strings and V shapes were for thinner strings (unless they're already oriented that way, wasn't sure).
