Bergantino Announces the Forté HP2X Bass Amp – No Treble
Bergantino has upgraded its Forté HP bass amp line with the new Forté HP2X, which they say is “back and better than ever.” Central to the redesign is a new custom output transformer.
“In order to best employ a transformer into our current forte’ HP2 design, we worked very closely with the engineers at Cinemag, a highly respected company and large player in the transformer industry,” founder Jim Bergantino explains. “Carefully choosing features such as core material, winding ratios, impedance, inductance, and other tone-enhancing parameters, we were able to come up with a transformer design that uniquely and perfectly fit into the current architecture and circuit topology of our HP2, allowing us to give our new HP2X many of the tonal qualities these transformers have been lauded and sought after for, over decades of use in the musical amplification industry.”
The Bergantino Forté HP2X features a Class D power section and dishes out up to 1,200 watts while weighing just 6.5 pounds. Its controls include a four-band EQ, variable lowpass and highpass filters, Gain, Drive, Punch, Bright, and Mute. Other features include an optional rechargeable Bluetooth footswitch, a front-facing USB port for updating the firmware, and a DI with Pre and Post EQ.
The amp is available now with a street price of $1,759.
