Here I explain the difference between thick and extra light gage guitar strings. I try the D’Addario Extra Light Gage which makes playing much easier.

How is your playing since this video? I’m just starting and I purchased my guitar from a friend. I have the same issue. Strings are tough for bar chords and I’m getting better but was really frustrated when I started. Interested in knowing how you progressed for my own motivation to keep going. Thanks for the video!
Thank you
"I have an amplifier": Priceless common-sense observation. The experts always extol the slight volume advantage of heavier strings, when all their performing is done with amplification.
I cannot thank you enough for this suggestion!!! I have the exact same guitar and I changed the strings to XL today. I am so happy, now playing has become much easier and much less painful.
What action height can you get away with when using extra light strings?
He can’t still play
Which brands have Soft strings for Acoustic guitar plz?
You make some good points. Especially when alot of people come from playing electric guitars/which in general have lighter gauge strings. Just recently picked up another acoustic, seems to of come with .12 on the high E (they say light medium). I went with .11 Elixir phosphor/bronze and couldn't be happier, I absolutely have to have coated strings where i live/weather. Everything is a "give and take" sure lighter strings take away from the sound, but if you pick up a acoustic "once in a while" not such a issue.

Lighter gauge strings make your Acoustic Guitar feel like an Electric Guitar to facilitate playability. Fun fact Electric Guitars are easier than Acoustic Guitars due to thinner strings, lighter action (to help with barre chords), and smaller size.
They make 9s for Acoustic Guitar (Ultra-Lights).
Your guitar is nice
Thank you Sir, so extra light is the way to go for beginners. I am having the same problem. My fingers can't take it. But I really love to play the guitar
Did you have to adjust your truss rod due to the lighter strings?
To goood
Thanks brother. I was given my first guitar for Christmas and I can use all the tips anyone will share.
