  • I have (had) 5 of the JHS Series 3 pedals and really like them. I have the distortion, hall reverb, fuzz, and phaser. Had the delay and only sold it because I had a lot of other delays and it just didn't add anything to the collection. But, it was a very good sounding, bread and butter delay. I really like the distortion. The fuzz is great because it has a bias knob to make it glitchy. I don't use a ton of verb (really just to liven up quiet playing at home) and the hall sounds perfect for me. If you max out settings, you can get some wild ambient tones. Phaser is Phase 90 style with added features and sounds great.

Another contender could be the Line 6 HX One. I haven't used it, but I had an HX FX and now and HX Stomp XL. That thing would be a great Swiss Army knife/figure out what you like. No major menu diving. I think it's currently like $250, even at $300 for all that is inside? No brainer.

  • The Boss OD3 is a great pedal more in the ODR-1 style but a bit more oomph on tap. Boost it with a Boss BD2 Blues Driver and you got yer dirt covered. I have a ton of pedals but my little all Boss grab n go board is hard to beat. Boss TU Tuner>BD2 Blues Driver>OD3>DM2 Analog Delay>DD3 Digital Delay, tremelo and reverb on the amp.

  • Good info on the Wampler Belle vs ODR-1. The Nobels is awesome but yeah, I do wish it had a dedicated bass cut when using humbuckers. Will keep an eye out for a used Wamp Belle.
