Best interpretation for BWV996 Mi minor. The sound is sureal! It is mathematic, cold, germanic, and at the same time, so philosophical and elevating. The feeling and pleasure I get listening to his palying is ineffable.

Wow, by far the best interpretation of the loot suites I’ve ever heard performed. I guess it’s no surprise that David Russell is performing it. Is there a sheet music edition that has these notations?

This is as definitive as it is for the classical guitar rendition of the lute suite. Bach's music, David Russell's playing, Dammann's guitar, Omni Foundation's recording, It doesn't get better than this.
Maybe this is a coincidence of names but just in case it is not.. There was a classical guitar website,..i think it even predated the WWW as a bbs- late 80s, early 90s.. that was run by "David Russel".. if THIS is THAT "David Russel" THEN—-> Thank You So Much that resource ..so much downloadable guitar music (and the midi files to hear the basic form) ..I was dirt poor and cannot express enough what it felt like to stumble upon that website when I did. Thanks.
Ok.. so even if that is not the same David Russel, Thanks just the same for these very fine Lute Suite performances. (currently nailing the 997 prelude and breaking sweetly into that fugue. nicely done.)
