Blue Bossa – Soloing with Arppeggios – Jazz Guitar lesson with Tabs
Blue Bossa is a great way song start improvising following the harmony because it’s a well known tune that is not too difficult.
In this lesson I’ll present a set of arpeggios, some exercises, target notes and strategies for making solos where you can hear the harmony in the improvisation when you solo over Blue Bossa
It will help you improvise over the chord changes and check out the arpeggios of Blue Bossa. I will also give you some ideas on how to create good solos inside the changes.
You can check out the lesson on improvising on a II V I in C major with arpeggios here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyHXN3Vxhz4

What a re songs you would like to see a lesson on? ????
Arpeggios and target notes (3rd and 7th) is sometimes enough! If you target the correct note, you may even play out of the scale ????
This video has provided me with a starting point for jazz that I have been seeking for years. Thank you so much, I feel I have gained a lot of insight by watching this, and using it as a practice guide.
you are a legit legend, really aprecciate the way you've been helping people throughout the years, cheers from brazil, friend!
Why are you calling Fm7 when actually you are using Fm9? I am a huge fan and I was wondering if there is a learning opportunity for me here.
Thanks
Arif
Excellent lesson..
Thanks for sharing your talent an also for think in Spanish ????????❤
Gracias y bendiciones ????????????????
Fantastic Beutiful Beutiful
I started guitar 6 years ago and because of you and other amazing content creators, I have been able to rapidly progress, write songs with interesting chord progressions, jam with others, and perform live with my own band. I am so appreciative of these in-depth lessons and the amount of effort you put into the production quality matching the tab with your videos as well.
Keep it up!
Your lessons are very, very good Jens, Thank you so much.
Im 13 years old and a begginer jazz guitar player, and i'm giving some exams for my music school on June 28th and i will play Blue Bossa and Autumn Leaves. I just watched your lessons about those songs and i want to thank you for your work. You helped a lot.❤️????

Hello guitarist ????❤️????????????????????✌️????
How awesome to see how much your videos have improved. ????????
Great lesson! Lots of information with good pacing
Very useful as always Jens. Having followed you years now, it made me smile to realize how far you've come over 7 years. Keep it up. You are a great source of jazz guitar education. I know it's helped me immensely. THX
Wow! I've tried to solo over the tune many times mostly by ear without thinking what I'm doing and got the lines fairly right according to the chords and melody but never thought of this way of approaching a song. This way of practicing will surely approve my playing. Thank you!????????????❤
That was a nice beard)) As well as amasing solo, master)))
too much talkinh
Your best video on toutubeI have seen, thanks
annoying
I really appreciate the clarity that you exercise when you explain technique. Please keep up the good work!
Thanks very much
Hey man
Your work is great.
Keep it up.I am enjoying every bit of it. You are a master.
Thank you very much
The Neapolitan Sub-dominant! What madness is next?!
I just graduated to Blue Bossa in the last couple days. This is an exemplary lesson! I'll be coming back to it for years.
Lars, this is a gem.i do vocals. And some stuff will be going down a flute.3rd and fifth should set up a honk.please don't tell the jazz police.
I’ve just started playing ‘Blue Bossa’… and this is helping me with the business of arpeggios and the idea of soloing – more than other videos I’ve watched in quite a while!
super great knowledge tq Jens
Thanks so much, but too much talking
Just discovered this one and what a gem. At first I thought I'd never remember all the arpeggios but after much less time than I thought I was playing the basic exercise and it's amazing how as soon as you can do that you can already sometimes make a decent if not very elaborate solo never using anything but notes from the arpeggios. It's so far beyond what I was previously able to do as a guitarist who came up playing in 70s rock cover bands playing solos mostly with just minor pentatonic scales. Thanks so much for you content Jens!
I cant do lead, I'm barely average with one major scale. I have failed you Jens, we must drink a beer!????????
What's a pretty sounding 5 to 8 chord song (my fingers are slow). Love your tabs, Thank You for posting, Cheers from Cincinnati Ohio!
OMG ten minutes of pure talikng… ????????
Jens, please do one on CORCOVADO, would really love that. Thanks
Great lesson Jens, bedankt!
Great video Jens! Love it!
Hi Jens, please clarify if there is a mistake on the tab at the 3 minute and 49 second mark, because to my eyes the notes in the c minor arpeggio are C and E flat, but on your tab it says to play fret 11 under the E which if actually played would be the F am I missing something?
Nice and clear, Thankyou sr.????♂️
You are the best jazz instructor and an amazing musician!
Eres un gran artista, Jens. Excelente guitarrista, y con gran facilidad para la enseñanza. Muchas gracias!!!
Maestro !! es justo lo que estaba buscando !! millones de gracias por esta luz en tunel
I used to try to improvise using scales and modes – and it sounded like Sh—-
Using this method of chord tones and arpeggios and focusing on the 3rd of the chord has changed everything for me. I still sound like Sh—. but at least there’s a shred of music there.
Great lesson. Thank you.
thank you so much!!!
many thanks as always your explanations and demonstrations are clear and so very useful! keep them coming!
