  • i would have loved to switch out my GX100 with the GX10 but they missed out on the MIDI in/out -_- so i will stay with the GX100

  • Is there any way to run direct with cab sim on and also to an amp’s fx return with cab sim off?
I see there’s a branch out but since the amp and cab are in the same block on the GX I can’t place the branch out between them(?)

  • Very cool. Just started watching and Lee reminds me of me playing. Love me some gain and EMG pickups in a strat ❤.. He and I would have fun playing. ❤
I still think I will just build a pedal board with the IR2 going into my PC for recording and FOH for live jams. It has the amps I love and I'll use effects in front and in the loop.. ❤
What a great piece of gear. Boss rules. ❤

    Great video sir. ❤

  • I think it’s laughable when I watch these reviews and I see these people with these relic guitars is though they’ve beaten these guitars down over the years and Unfortunately they’re playing never adds up to the amount of wear and tear that there guitar shows lol as far as the effect goes there’s not there I’ll swing this in anything else I own there’s no reason to buy it

  • I feel like this things biggest competitor is the gx-100 lol. I'm trying to work out if I'd prefer the smaller size of the gx10 or the benefit of having the extra footswitches on the 100. Well done to Boss!

  • A bit more treble and a bit more bottom end, with high gain… That's where you lost me…

  • don't find that "new" pedal bringing anything more to the already overbooked cheap multi-effects market … Mooer or Nux do better with much much better UIs than Boss who's really not innovative nowadays … New katanas are a disappointment and they even ask for an additional 50euros to add on their amps one of the oldest technology that exist … the Bluetooth. A shame. That brand is surviving because of its name, that won't last long if they do not bring something really new and special.

  • Hi Paul,

Can I ask how can you achieve this tight, rich and clear(never mushy and tiny)sound for all the time? It is incredibly clear.

Audio interface? Level control? Post processing?

    Thanks from now,
    Celal

  • No midi, no balanced outputs, no constant updates and not much to say about technical support, so that's where Chinese companies shine, launching an ampero/valeton with all the features and connections for a third of the price.

  • Paul – the black Strat sounds great, but good Lord it looks like you tied it to the back of your car and dragged it through the streets of your town. I have a Fender Strat Time Machine relic also, but is not as heavily relic'd as your black one. Funny if it was a PRS the value would be nill. Beat the hell out of a Strat and it goes up in value.

  • This channel is growing to be one of my favourite guitar related channels. The playing and the tones are just amazing. If I don't contain myself I'll end up buying the IR-200, GX-100 and GT-1000. You make these units sound incredible, and this is coming from a hardcore Fractal Axe FX user!!!

  • I have a Katana 50 MK2. Would getting something like this be redundant? Or is it a better quality to what's on board the Katana?

  • There is this old joke about the guitarist with multiple pedals. By the time he got them switched on the solo spot was over.
It applies to this as well if you don't have or cannot use an external controller with it to pick up the sound needed right there and then.

  • It ticks so many boxes but I think the Achilles heel for many people might be the user interface. Fender do that so much better with the more graphical look with little amps and pedals. Whilst the drag and drop touch screen is fancy I personally think it could more easily drag you down that dangerous path of over fiddling tone chasing where you simply forget to just play.

Having said that I think the construction and form factor are great and as always with Boss solid. Whilst fender not unsurprisingly do the clean amps well the Boss does the high gain better and the overall range and quality of effects is better. The Boss community for patch sharing is also more advanced.

Sadly my bedroom playing skills can't justify this piece of kit quite yet. In the interim I'd really like to see Boss pull their finger out and get a Katana Go 2 out there to compete with the recently released Fender Micro Plus. Even for my level of skills the user interface might be critical as I definitely need to play rather than drown in option paralysis!

  • It’s hard to watch your videos and reviews because you make everything sound great.

  • These tones sound good though my limited experience with the boss modelers have not been positive. The lead guitar player that replaced me when I left my last band uses the GT-1000. Never heard such horrible tones. Of course that’s not necessarily the modelers fault; but other modelers I’ve heard by other guitar players sound ok to me.
