30 thoughts on “BOSS Katana-50 amp MKII Beginner Start up Quick Guide AND Demo 50w

  • Just picked up a Katana 50 MK II and as others have noticed, the manual is virtually useless. Your video is extremely helpful to me for figuring out the capabilities of the amp and how to access them. Thanks for taking the time and effort to create and share this information.

  • Wait…what….the LEDs are actually buttons !!!!! I've had this amp for a year and didn't know that. I HATE THIS AMP. I need to buy something that's simple and smash this one into small pieces.

  • Why won't boss explain how the amps work? I am sick of trying to figure it out. I will probably just take it back. You have done a good job but I still don't know how to turn off (completly) the effects.

  • THANKS SONNY! Your video delivered on its promise to be a beginner's guide. Before plugging in my new Katana i watched this video several times over, writing copious notes along the way. With pen and notebook i drew pictures of all 12 knobs and wrote every function of every knob. I copied the 12 knobs several times over to write notes and knob settings for crunch and lead and brown. Because you took the time to explain all 12 knobs I am going to know every function of my amp before i turn it on the first time…

  • This is the only video which tells about the control panel details among the other videos I saw. I do not have this amp and the studio we use has 100 version of this amp. So I needed to learn the control panel of this amp and your video was very helpful. U did not do ur guitar show just told us about the amp. Thanks. The other videos are really garbage.

  • Good demo, Sonny, The last three years since Covid and my heart attack I’ve had to shut off a lot of my guitars and amplifiers I’m thinking about buying a katana MK 250 white it’s got all kinds of sounds and stuff so you can play around with it you know, thanks for the demo. Hope you’re still doing well. I know this video is four years old but I hope you’re good and healthy.

  • i am like a NEW NEW beginner, never touched a bass in my life and i still don’t know how to tune it so it sounds like it’s coming from the amp

  • I don't think any of the many other tutorials about this amp deal with the 2 right hand sections of the ctrl panel as succinctly as you do. They're all useless. Yours is the video that helps me. Good talking and good finger pointing/cranking. I saved this and refer to it like a school book. Thank you!!

  • Thank you. So much for just filming this this way and going through everything – it just breaks the ice. I'm 68 and have played acoustic all my life. Listening to my new ES 339 through this is really bringing me back to the 60's. I hope I can dare play this thing in public – I do a lot of climate action songs and this is a whole other level of rage expression. Yeah. Loving it.
