Boss OC-5 Review – Bass – Demo (honest opinion)
Boss OC-5 Review – Bass – Demo (honest opinion)
In this video I review the BOSS OC-5 on bass and give my honest opinion. I have always ised the Boss OC-3 and a lot of bass players like the OC-2. These effects pedal claims to be the best of both worlds. What do you think you?

This was such a chill review, good job dude
Very surprised that this review is 3yrs old and only 88 likes. Great review! 3 years on what do you think now?
Best review of the oc-5 for bass thanks! After having watched half a dozen useless reviews I came across this one and it made my day. Brilliant!
I beg to differ. This low key (pun intended) brown is the perfect color for a bass pedal. Nothing else gets you closer to the brown note than a good octaver. But jokes aside, brown gives me earthy vibes, maybe woods and certain rocks. What better connotations to symbolize deep frequencies? And there is nothing more "bass" than an octaver. Also, no other type of pedal seems to use this color. I think it was the perfect choice.
Great review ????
I read that they called it the OC-5 because it does what the 2 and the 3 each did, but together in one pedal. So 2 + 3 = 5
Oc-4 never exist. 4 is unlucky number in Japan.
Thanks man!
????
This is the best and most relaxed review/presentation of the OC-5???????? …thank you!!
1-2 days and I will have in my bass-stuff ????????????????
Poly mode is actually for the pedal to track chords better. I never tried the OC-2 (too expensive), but I tried the OC-3 and didn't like it. Now I will try the OC-5 once it arrives and for what I have seen on reviews, I will like it!
New video comparing all of the boss octave pedals is now up…

As a bass player yet to buy my first pedal (I'm holding off until I think my chops speak for themselves before playing around with too many toys) I found this extremely useful. I have been looking at this octave pedal for a while and this was about the clearest demo I've seen so far. In the future I wouldn't mind seeing compressors and maybe a chorus pedal too. There are others (pre-amos, tuners and the next micro amp) but these are the main ones.
And something that has me intrigued is your Sandberg bass, particularly the zero fret. As a jazz bass player myself I really like the sound.
I always thought the Drive function on the OC3 was ace. Admittedly it's been 15 years since I heard it…
