Reminds me of scatterbrain by jeff beck. Anyways cool tone
Chris used a pic
Squire played with a pick.
Nice
Show off Just kidding great job.
When you play diatonically (7 notes from the major scale and its 7 modes), you use just 3 shapes: Major, Minor and Phrygian.
The Major shape is fingers 1-2-4 with a fret space after fingers 1 and 2 AND fingers 2 and 4. This is the only shape out of the three that covers 5 frets, the other 2 shapes cover 4 frets.
The Minor shape is fingers 1-3-4 with one fret space between fingers 1 and 3.
The Phrygian shape is fingers 1-2-4 with one fret space between fingers 2 and 4.
The major scale is:
Maj/Min/Phrygian/Maj/Maj/Min/Phryg/Maj.
I'm gonna try that❤????
Is he incorporating the ring finger?
Can't quite tell.
Lovely
did you prefer to have your thumb anchored on the a string? does it help in some way?
In what song does Chris do this?
why do yall workout for this nobody hear it though
Excuse me but what you play does not seem to correspond with the part written on the staff. Quatrains of sixteenth notes are written in the staff, while those you play are triplets.
It reminds me of Those Who Fight Further in ff7
????????????????????
????????????????????
Great exercise! Your hand puts me in mind of a spider running up and down the fretboard ????
Congratulations ????????????????
Says tab in the description but I can’t figure out how to find it on mobile
Chris Squire is the person who got me into this bass playing lark. I’ll always have a soft spot for anything ‘Fish’ related! ????
Thank you for wonderful teachings and helping us bass players to grow: I’m a decent bass player and felt stuck where I was with my learning until I started watching your videos and now I feel I can be a great bass player and I’m no longer stuck in learning thanks to your teachings Dan and hope you continue to do what you do. Thanks again
I've got your beginner & Motown courses and I'm having so much success due to your great teaching style that I think playing these sort of exercises won't be too far away. Cheers Dan, you've got the perfect balance and I will be getting the funk course very soon.
